Dream looks over himself one last time with the limited space he has in the narrow glass box. Boots, tied. Hoodie, around waist. Inventory band, secured on his left wrist. Mask, tied firmly around his head. He's ready.

He waits, from under the ground he can hear the roaring of the crowd above.

"Hellooo everyone!" A sudden voice says, booming over the crowd. "And welcome to the 13th MC Survival Games!"

Thirteen battles. This was only Dream's third in this specific competition. His first time, he placed 12th. The second, 3rd. This time, he's determined to place 1st.

"I am your proud announcer, Mr. Beast. I watch all perspectives, everything that's happening, so that you don't have to!

"This year, 24 fighters battle it out to make it to the end for bragging rights and $10,000. Supplied by yours truly.

"Players will roam the Arena in search of tools and items that will help them along the way, from food to armor. There are multiple biomes, each of which hold something special to them, from mobs to landmarks.

"Players have Respawn Crystals in their inventory from the beginning of the match that break upon 'death' and teleport them to the High House so they can watch the rest of the match!"

Dream checks his inventory. Completely empty apart from the white and purple crystal that glows in the corner. Every competition he's done that could result in death, he's been supplied a Respawn Crystal. It's a requirement so that no one actually dies. It's irremovable from the inventory without special tools, that's usually only ever used for the victor of the game.

"The only rules are no building up to the stands! Everything else is fair game! Use your environment to your advantage. May the last man - or woman - standing win!"

Dream's glass box trembles, and slowing begins to rise. Sunlight pours into the box, revealing the centre chest shelter, and 23 other rising boxes each holding one fighter. He takes a quick glance around. Forward is the starting chests. To his left seems to be a mountainous region. To his right looks to be plains. Behind him is a dark oak forest. He makes his decision in a flash as Mr. Beast starts the countdown.

"Fighters, you are released in 3..! 2...! 1! GO!"

Upon the final word, a beacon in the very centre of the chest shelter shoots a pillar of light into the sky, the glass of all 24 boxes shattering and releasing them all.

Dream takes a step back as he watches nearly every other competitor take a dash at the middle. His mind is made, and he turns around, bolting for the dark oak forest.

"Captain Sparkles, Grian, Sky, Skeppy, and Dream have all fled from the starter chests!" Mr. Beast announces.

Dream runs through the thick trees.

"Items have been acquired! Aphmau has earned the advancement 'Getting an Upgrade!' Technoblade, Slimecicle, and Cupquake have earned the advancement 'Aquire Hardware!' Bajan, Stampy, Deadlox, and Spifey have earned the advancements 'Suit Up!'"

Dream starts taking logs from trees, only needing a few before he crafts sticks, a shovel, and a pickaxe. Grabbing a few more logs, he digs straight down in the dirt.

"Ohh! First blood too soon! Stacy is pummeled by Bajan!"

The moment Dream reaches and collects stone, Beast shouts, "Dream has earned the advancement 'Stone Age!'" Followed soon by Skeppy and Tommyinnit also gaining the announcement.

Dream drops down into a cave, shaving half a heart of his health once he hits the ground. Nothing serious.

He uses the sliver of light he has from the hole he'd made to gather more cobblestone, some coal and create torches, a crafting bench, and a furnace. With the cobblestone, he makes a sword and better pickaxe, making Beast call out his new advancement.

Dream blocks out Beast's voice for a while, that not being too difficult with him under the ground.

He takes the time to set everything up, making sure that his small space in the cave is secure enough from other fighters. He's not sure if he would survive an attack at this point in time. He's not quite ready.

Dream doesn't have much time to worry about an attack from other players, however, before he has to whip around to the sound of groaning in the darkness.
