.. And I'll Tell You All About It

In the end, Grillby managed to convince the kids that their treehouse had to wait just a few more days until Maya was good enough to be on her feet and moving around again.

The girl was eternally grateful for him.

The only problem about that was that Maya was bored, incredibly, extraordinarily bored.

And with nothing to distract her from it, the pain of losing Flowey rose to new hights for a total of three hours until she managed to grab her phone, flip the quiet voice of the void that called out to her off and text Mettaton to come over.

Grillby had finally reopened the pub- even though Maya told him to wait a few more days so he could catch up on some sleep that he still looked like he desperately needed- so calling him was out of question.

Sans and Papyrus were busy being a happy little family with.. their dad, someone who was still not to be named for the moment.

Frisk and Lilly would just bug her about the treehouse again. Plus Toriel put her foot down a few days ago and finally got both of them in the little school all the way in New Home.

Which was also why Undyne and Alphys were out of the question, the former teaching sports, the later teaching.. something else that she definitely told Maya before, but the girl couldn't remember right now for the life of her.

Then there was Napstablook, but as much as Maya liked the ghost, they were probably not the best company for her right now.

Which left Mettaton, who immediately sent a little heart back before suddenly appearing in front of her door a few seconds later, out of breath, and ushering her to the side so he could slip by into the apartment.

Maya simply raised an eyebrow at him, closed the door and crossed her arms while the robot dramatically threw himself on her bed.

That in itself was nothing out of the ordinary, but the extra flair with which he did it was new.

Oh yes, this would be the perfect distraction.

"Care to tell me what exactly happened to make you even more of a dramaqueen than you usually are?"

Mumbling, muffled by one of her pillows, reached her ears and Maya sat down next to him, patting his shoulder.

"There there"

He lifted his face barely enough to glare at her, before turning around, eyes glued to the ceiling.

"Seriously, you're scaring me here, Metta. What happened?"

The robots face turned pink and he promptly hid himself behind his hands.

"Gaster found us.", he groaned, spilling the tea before Maya even had time to tell him not so say his name. "I had a free afternoon, so I thought I would pop in by Paps, surprising him and all that, you know? Well, Sans and his dad were out- at least that's what I thought when neither of them opened the door- but apparently they weren't, because not even five minutes after Paps and I went to his room to watch a movie and cuddle- you know how it is, darling-, well, his door flung open and both Gaster and Sans walked into the room."

After she took a few seconds to sort through his quick ramblings, Maya cringed.

"Please tell me you weren't-"

"What? No! We were cuddling, maybe kissing a bit, but nothing more!" he grabbed a pillow and placed it on his head, probably trying to slowly suffocate himself while Maya had to hold back a snicker. "But you have no idea how protective that guy is over his sons! He took one look at us and his hand started glowing this weird blue that Sans' does before he throws stuff around with his magic. You can't imagine how creepy that was!"
