"FLOWEY! I SWEAR TO- FUCK!!"

Maya knew there was no use in screaming.

The stubborn flower was gone.

And knowing him- which she liked to think she did, he wouldn't return any time soon.

Then again..

Did she really knew him?

Listening to Floweys outburst had felt like a punch to the guts- or a stab to the guts, rather.

The girl never heard of any of the things he said, least of all that he hadn't always been a flower.

Or that he had been dead.

Maya wasn't even completely sure what just happened, to be honest.

But she didn't need to know that to know she fucked up.

Somehow she fucked up big time.

Without even knowing how.

Yeah, that wasn't a comforting thought.

Maya balled her hands to tight fists at her side.

How long had Flowey kept all of that inside?

How was any of that even possible?

How-

"How the hell was I supposed to know any of that?!"

It wasn't like Flowey liked to talk about himself all too much, so technically she wasn't the one to blame.

And Maya knew he didn't mean to explode in her face like that.

He probably wasn't even really angry at her, but rather at-

"Gaster!" Maya wanted to hit herself for not thinking of him sooner and a second later, she screamed, her voice raw and thoughts wild. "GET YOUR BONEY ASS OVER HERE!!"

She might not understand what exactly happened, but she knew that, somehow, it was Gasters fault.

After all, Flowey had been pretty clear in that regard.

So who better to give her some answers than the skeleton himself?

Maya waited for nearly a whole minute, pacing back and forth through the muddy ground of Waterfall, but there was no answer, neither in her head nor around her.

"How the hell does he do it?"

Cursing profusely, she tried to think back to their first training session.

What did Gaster say again?

'Focus. Well that should be easy enough.'

Maya closed her eyes and took a deep breath, channelling the magic she felt running through her veins.

'That's right. In and out. You're not angry.. Not angry at all..'

When she felt it vibrate through her whole body, the girl sent the magic out as far as she could, searching for the familiar burst of energy that was Gasters soul.

'C'mon old man!', she hissed, swaying slightly from her struggle, ignoring the sweat that ran down her forehead.

Why couldn't she find him?

What if Flowey would do something stupid?

"Gods, keep it together!", the girl growled out, getting more desperate as time passed by.

But the thought of her best friend getting into trouble kept invading her mind.

It wasn't like the flower was known for his logical thinking.
