"Oh, look what the cat dragged in!"
A shiver went down Mayas spine.
"Two lost little birds!"
Nausea rose in her stomach, palms sweaty, the high pitched voice grazing her skull in all the wrong places.
This couldn't be happening.
"'Should cut their wings so they don't fly away again."
Lilly pressed herself tighter against her, partly hidden behind her leg.
"Oh Peter! You would really do that for me?"
Peter turned around to Margret, a smile on his face.
"I'd do anythin' for ya, m'lady."
How were they here already?!
'I warned you.', came Gasters answer. 'To bring your sister back, I had to bring others back, too.'
Maya groaned, cursing him for ever playing with this damn code and putting her in this situation.
'Next time you wanna do me a favor, ask me before you do it!'
Her eyes wandered back to her parents, who were gazing lovingly at each other.
Maya felt sick.
'I really could've lived without this.'
Footsteps behind them seemed to get the two psychopaths back to reality, and not a second later, the seven guys who had been following them for the last days had them surrounded, guns drawn and pointing at the girls.
'Fuck.'
Maya scanned the area, her eyes locking on the hole a few feet behind Peter and Margret.
'So close..'
But Gasters warning cut her off before she could try to make a run for it.
'Not close enough. They will kill you.'
She groaned inwardly.
This wasn't fair!
She already killed them once!
Why did she have to do it again?!
"Tell me, my dear, why are my sweet birdies so quiet?"
Margret took a step in their direction and Maya instinctively pulled Lilly closer behind her.
She wouldn't let her die.
Not this time.
'Gaster, I need you to keep your eyes on Lilly.', she warned him quickly, freeing the knife she kept hidden in her sleeve. 'Make sure she's safe in case I lose sight of her.'
Maya could feel his uncertainty, but he didn't say anything about it, so she concentrated back on Peter, who had taken two steps closer to them.
'Don't kill unless someone is in your way.'
She nodded, taking Lillys shaking hand in hers.
'Your LoVe is high enough as of it is.'
And in the matter of seconds, all hell broke loose.
Shots rang from behind them, Lilly screamed and Margret was laughing.
Maya stopped moving altogether, too shocked to even turn around and see what had happened.
For a second, she was back in the warehouse, fear gnawing at her conscious.
It couldn't happen again.
