Hours later, stuffed with at least five bags each, Maya and Mettaton raced back through the Underground towards Snowdin.
They had promised to be back at the pub ten minutes before they reached Waterfall.
"HURRY UP TOASTER! WE'RE GONNA.. GET OUR ASSES.. KICKED!", Maya huffed out to the robot behind her.
In hindsight, they should've just taken a ride with the river person.
"NO, YOU'LL.. GET YOUR ASS KICKED!", he yelled back. "I CAN.. HOLD MY OWN."
The girl laughed through the pain in her lungs and legs.
"OH I'M SURE YOU CAN!", she replied, taking a second to turn her face towards him and stuck her tongue out.
The soft pink blush on his face was almost enough to sent her to the ground, laughing her butt off.
"I'M GOING TO.. HIT YOU, MAYA!"
And he really got faster, almost catching up to her.
That was how they finally reached Snowdin, laughing and pushing each other like little kids.
Until one stumbled.
'Oh shi-'
And pulled the other with them to the ground.
Maya landed with a huff, but before she could collect her limbs again, Mettaton was above her and they were rolling through the snow at high speed.
She pressed her eyes together and kept a tight hold on Mettaton and her bags, not really wanting one of his heels to get stuck in her eye or race back to get all of her clothes later.
Their combined laughter rang in Mayas ears, more carefree than she had heard it all day.
Snowdins residents turned around to stare at them, neither used to Mettaton acting so childish nor to the human that he was rolling around with.
But neither Mettaton nor Maya could really care.
That and the fact that they didn't really see any of it, besides colorful blurs in the snow around them, because they were still rolling.
Fast.
Eventually, Maya stopped the half-girl-half-robot cannonball, her head falling face first in the snow, Mettaton landing above her a second later.
"Oof-"
All air was pressed out of her lungs at the sudden contact and she gasped.
"MAYA? METTA?"
With a little effort, the girl raised her head, only to see a swirling mix of white and red.
She let it fall back down with a huff, eyes closed again to get the world to stop turning so fast.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"
"Ugh, I'm going to.. be sick.", Mettaton replied above her.
Apparently the world was also turning for him.
"Don't you dare!", she bit back, the grin still plasted on her face.
Then the adrenaline subsided slowly and Maya actually felt the cold and snow that soaked into her clothes.
She shivered.
"Think you could help us, Paps?"
The large skeleton picked Mettaton up and sat him down on the steps in front of his house.
Maya took a deep breath and sat up on her ellbows, trying to ignore the fact that she still saw two Papyruses.
"Do you have any idea how heavy your butt is?!"
