I really didn't know much about this guy aside from the fact that we were gonna be workin together, but I didn't really care. As long as I got the job done with out pissin Joe off, (which was the man's name) this time around. I could care less.
I had worked up in Brokeback before and that didn't go so well, but I had some one new to work with this time. Joe had butt in, our little greeting to explain how the pay was gonna work so I turned to hear him. He went on about how we were supposed to herd the sheep and then somethin about stayin up all night to watch for coyotes, but I wasn't really listenin.
I didn't snap out of my trance till I saw Joe callin out Ennis's name, and turned my head to only see him starin right back at me. He abruptly left with his hat in hand without sayin a word. As he walked out the door, my heart started pounding hard, loud enough that I was worried Joe could here it.
(Me) "um, excuse me Joe". I simply walked out to go check on him. I don't know what made me do it, just that I felt sort've worried all of a sudden.
