Jack (pov)
The light was dimly lit and the motel room was small but, I didn't care. I had a cig in one hand and Ennis wrapped around the other. We lay there bare naked, with the smell of semen and sweat filling the air. It was silent for a bit until Ennis said something under his breath
"We got ourselves in a real situation here don't we Jack" (Ennis). "Yeah", I said. " I mean, I got a family now, wife 'n two kids, I love'm to death" (Ennis). "I know, I know (me). We gotta keep this hush, hush you know cuz I think someone might've caught on". "What do you mean?"(Ennis).
"Well, when I went to find out if I could try for the ranchin job again, Joe gave me and odd look that I didn't pay much attention to till, he mentioned that we'd been doing something other then tendin to the sheep". Ennis was quite after that. I questioned whether or not to continue but I did anyway. "He immediately told me to leave his trailer in a irritated tone so I left".
That's when Ennis really got silent and I couldn't blame'm. If Joe had the balls to tell someone about this, we'd be skewered right now. "That's why we gotta control this..this feeling. It takes hold of us, at the wrong place, wrong time, we're dead". Ennis's sudden response shook me out of my own thoughts, but I knew what he said was right. We couldn't let any one know...
