Jack (pov)
Well, we're already half way through the month, and it seems that our little food issue is beginning to drive both me and Ennis boncers! I persuaded him to come out with me to go hunt some game, big enough to feed us for days. He agreed just as long as I didn't take the shot cuz my aim sucks.

We found a huge Elk grazin not to far from our camp sight. Ennis knelt the shotgun down on a dead branch quietly and within a split second, a loud boom rang out and the buck was down. (Me) "hehe yeah, that's what I'm talkin about!". I couldnt help but cheer. If I had to go one more day eaten beans, I think I might've considered eaten Ennis.

That night felt as if we ate like kings to me. I hadn't eaten any type of meat for weeks so this was truly special. In the mornin we went back to our usual routine. When I came back though, Ennis and I took sort've of a longer brake then usual. We sat there, me with a beer in hand and Ennis, with a cup of whiskey.

It was quite till I spoke up. (Me) " U'r brother & sister do right by you?".
(Ennis) "They did the best they could after my folks was gone. Considerin, they didn't leave us nothin except $24 and a coffee can. Got me a year of high school, before transmission went on the pick up. Them my sis left, married a roughneck, moved to Casper. Me and my brother we, we got ourselves work up in a ranch, up near Warland, till I was nineteen then he got married, and well, no more room for me. And that how come uh, me end up here".

I sat there just starin at him thinkin about what he said when,(Ennis) "what?". (Me) "man, thats more words you spoke than in the past to weeks".(Ennis) "Hell, that's most I spoke in a year". "My dad he, he was a fine roper. Didnt rodeo much though, he though all rodeo cowboys was all fuck ups". (Me) " Hell, there are". Suddenly without really any reason I jumped up and yelled "Yee haw!".

"Woohoo, jeah, haha. Spurring his guts out, wavin in the girls in the stands, he's kickin me to high heaven, woohoo!". I was havin to much fun lollygagain that at the last moment before I could hear Ennis's warnin, I fell over topling some stuff over with Ennis laughin at my foolishness. (Ennis) "hehe, I'd say my dad was right".
