Ennis (pov)
Each day started to become more repetitive. I go out to get our supplies, herd the sheep, and here Jack complain about our litte food problem. Today though, was oddly different.  I went out to get our daily rations and, on the way back I came across a large bear.

I barely had time to react. It startled my horse and the two mules carin the supplies. It took me at least two hours before I found them again. I came back to camp, tired and bruised up with Jack pissed as all hell. (Jack) "where the hell have you been. I come up here and your gone". I walked right passed him without sayin a word and sat down to exhausted to speak.

Jack came up to me with a towel wet with some hot water, after he noticed my bloody bruise at the side of my head. He went to clean it but, I roughly grabbed it out of his hands to do it myself. I didn't want to seem vunerable towards him but just his presence next to me caused me to feel oddly warm inside.

(Me) "The mules were startled. In their panic, they spilled all of our food supplies. It took me, I don't know how damn long to find them again". I could tell Jack felt a little bad now since he realized my situation, but he tried not to show it. I simply sat there and gazed into the fire while Jack got up to go take his night shift.

We were goin hungry tonight..
