It was getting close to late afternoon, so it was around 16:30, meaning there weren't any more practice matches today. I was about to go out and explore the city when I was caught by a familiar redhead.

"Y/n? Where are you going?" Tendou asked, making me jump and turn around. I hadn't even heard him coming.

"Geez Tendou. You scared me." I breathed, clutching my chest.

"Sorry, where are you headed?"

"Oh, I was just gonna go and explore the city a little. Nothing too drastic. Wanna come with me?" I asked.

"I thought you'd never ask." He grinned and grabbed my hand as he pulled me out the door.

As we walked towards the more active part of the city, Tendou seemed to already have an idea of where he was going. I was just letting him pull me along as he hummed to himself.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"To a bookstore. We can buy some manga or the latest Jump. Or if you don't want to, I know there's a pet store nearby." He suggested, looking back at me.

"Can we do both?" I beamed.

"I don't see why not." He grinned.

About 5 minutes later, we ended up at a bookstore.

"After you m'lady." Tendou said, opening the door for me with a mock bow, making me laugh.

"What a gentleman." I chuckled.

As I walked inside, I was met with the familiar fresh smell of books and... coffee? That's when I spotted a cafe in the corner of the bookstore.

"Did the cafe catch your interest? They gave amazing croissants if you want one." Tendou hummed, popping up beside me.

"Sure. After that, do you mind if I look for some manga? I got left on a cliffhanger and I need to find the rest of JuJutsu Kaisen."

"Of course you can. Why else would we come here?" He grinned.

The two of us walked over to the cafe and ordered ourselves something before heading over to roam the isles of manga.

"You said you read Jujutsu Kaisen?" I asked, taking a sip of my coffee.

"Mhm. I just started about a month ago. I'm on chapter 67."

"Oh. Well I won't spoil anything." I smiled.

"How far along are you?"

"Chapter 113." I replied, seeing some Jujutsu Kiasen manga.

"Geez. What volume is that?"

"13. Now I just need 14 through 16." I mumbled, scanning the section for the volumes I needed.

I smiled to myself upon finding the 3 books I was looking for. Standing up, I glanced over to where Tendou was standing only to find that he had disappeared. I glanced up and down the aisle but didn't see him.

"Tendou? Where'd you go?" I asked no one in particular.

"Right here." He replied from behind me.

I jumped and whirled around to face him.

"Geez. How do you keep doing that?"

"I dunno, you just scare easy." He shrugged.

"Come on. We can go buy this stuff, then we go to this spot I found."

Tendou started leading me towards the checkout. When we got there the lady started scanning our items. As I was about to take out my wallet, Tendou stopped me. I looked up at him confused.

"I'll pay for it." He said, taking out his own wallet.

"No really, it's fine. I can-"

"Nope." He smiled, booping my nose.

"Fine." I huffed, not wanting to keep the lady waiting.

"You two are such a cute couple." The lady smiled as Tendou paid for everything.

My eyes widened and I suddenly found the carpeted floor very interesting.

"Um actually, we're not dating..." I blushed.

"Oh, sorry." She apologized.

"I-its' fine." Tendou said.

After the awkward conversation with the cashier, we walked to the corner of the bookstore where we found some huge bean bag chairs and plopped down on them before cracking open the new manga we bought. Despite the previous conversation, the atmosphere wasn't awkward between the two of us. After a few minutes we were back to normal.

Since Tendou was a couple volumes behind me and I didn't want to spoil anything, I kept quiet most of the time.

We eventually left after a few hours of goofing off, reading together, and talking about other mangas along with our other interests outside of volleyball and school. This led to us talking about funny things that happened with our respective teams.

"And then Hinata hit the ball right into Kageyama's head." I laughed as we walked back to the training camp.

"Seriously? How is he still alive?" Tendou laughed.

"I dunno. Hinata just has a way with things. But speaking of small cinnamon rolls, can we just appreciate Gishiki's adorable bangs for a second?" I asked.

"I used to have bangs too y'know." Tendou said.

"Hm. I can't see it." I said, trying to picture the redhead with bangs.

"Now that I think about it, those were some shameful days. I regret that bowl-cut."

I tried to stop myself from laughing, but it was just too funny.

"Huh? What's so funny?" He asked.

"You- You had bowl-cut bangs?" I asked, still laughing.

"That was in the past!" He said defensively.

"I'm sorry." I chuckled, clutching my stomach. "Tendou, I love you, but you would not look good with a bowl cut." I said, patting his shoulder.

"Wait, what's that supposed to mean?" He blushed.

"Heh. Exactly what it sounds like." I winked as I walked through the doors of the training camp, leaving a flustered Tendou outside.
