Chapter 2

"And that's the volleyball gym." Niko said as we finished the tour. 

"There's no way I'm not gonna get lost one or twice." I chuckled. 

"Not while I'm around." Niko beamed proudly. 

"But aside from that, you're going to have to join a club soon," she informed me.

"Hm. Which one would you recommend?"

"I'm in the art club, but it's not all that fun." 

"Oh, okay."

"Now come on. Let's go eat on the roof!" She beamed, dragging me away.

Niko and I were walking to our lockers since school had ended. 

"Do you wanna walk home together?" She asked. 

"Sure." I smiled.

We had to part ways to go to our lockers but we would meet up outside the school. I got to my locker and started changing my shoes. 

"Hi. You're Y/n L/n, right?" A girl asked from beside me, making me jump a little. 

"Oh, sorry. I didn't mean t startle you." She apologized. 

She had pretty black hair, a beauty mark by her lip, and was wearing glasses. Overall she was beautiful. 

"Um, yeah. That's me." I said. 

"I'm Kiyoko Shimizu. You haven't joined a club yet, right?" She smiled. 

"No I haven't."

"Would you like to be a manager for the volleyball club?"

"Sure!" I smiled.

"Really? Thank you so much!" She said.

"It's no problem, really."

"Practice is starting now. Do you know where the gym is?" She asked, handing me the application form. 

"Yes." 

"We have practice every day before and after school. Morning practice starts at 6 and afternoon practice starts 10 minutes after school lets out." Kiyoko explained.

"Mhm."

We walked out of the building and were about to head to the gym when I remembered that I said I was going to walk home with Niko. 

"I almost forgot. I told Niko I would walk home with her today. I'll be right back Kiyoko-senpai. I'll meet you at the gym." I said before running off. 

I was careful not to run into anyone on my way to the school gates, though I did almost trip a couple of times. I saw Niko waiting for me at the gates.

"Hey Y/n!" She smiled.

"Hey." I panted, trying to catch my breath.

"What were you running for?" She asked. 

"I just got asked.. to be a manager.. for the.. volleyball club. And practice starts.. soon." I managed between breaths.

"Aw, bestie. You ran all the way here to tell me that? You could've just texted me." She chuckled.

"Oh yeah. For a second I forgot I had your number." I said. 

She chuckled.

"Well, I have to get going. Can't be late for my first practice." I smiled. 

"If you keep talking to me its gonna make you late." 

"Okay, okay. I'm going." I giggled and headed back towards the gym. 

I took my time because I still had 5 minutes until practice started and the gym wasn't that far away. When I got to the doors I could already hear shoes squeaking on the floor. I took a deep breath and opened the door. Kiyoko saw me first and waved me over. I walked to where she was sitting on the bench. The guys which I hadn't met yet were so focused they didn't even see me come in.

I didn't know a lot about volleyball. I'd barley learned the positions. I guess I can add that to my to-do list. "After the boys finish, I'll have them introduce themselves to you." Kiyoko said.
