We lost the match to Nekoma. It was a good game though since we managed to take the first set.

About an hour after the match I met up with Yams in the gym to help him work on his serve. To be honest, I don't know the first thing about jump float serves. So I watched some videos earlier and studied up on the topic a little, so I have an idea of what I'm doing.

About 3 minutes after I arrived, Yamaguchi showed up.

"Hey Yams." I beamed, walking over to him.

"H-hi Y/n-san." He smiled nervously.

"I thought I told you to relax. I don't bite." I smiled reassuringly.

"Heh. Right." He said and I saw him relax a bit.

"You wanted me to help you with your serve, right?"

"Oh, yeah. You gave us some really good tips during the game. I was wondering if you had any advice for me."

"Well, to be honest, I didn't know the first thing about jump float serves. So I did some research." I said, opening my notebook.

"Oh, you didn't have to."

"It's fine. I just watched a few videos, took some notes, nothing too fancy." I said, shrugging it off.

"Thank you."

"It's no problem, really." I smiled.

We went over my notes together. Then I had him try out his serve with some of the tips I gave him. I watched him practice for about 45 minutes, occasionally telling him how to improve. It was still important that he got some actual rest so I ended our one-on-one practice session there.

We parted ways and he went back to the dorms while I stayed behind to clean up.

How do they make this look so easy? I can't even keep this thing in the air for more than 15 seconds.

The ball bounced off my arms and out of my reach for what felt like the hundredth time. I sighed and rubbed my forearms, which hurt from being at this for so long.

Why am I trying to practice volleyball? I want to feel qualified to be a manager. I mean yeah, I have some knowledge on the sport and I'm good at watching our opponent and giving the boys tips or helping them practice. But that's about all I'm good at. Besides, I want to get a feel for the sport and have some understanding of how it feels to actually play.

I bet I couldn't receive anything if my life depended on it. I know you can't perfect your receives overnight, but I want to at least be able to keep the ball in the air for a minute.

I accidentally bumped the ball too high again and it hit me in the face.

"Ow." I mumbled.

"Y/n? What're you doing in here?" Sugawara's voice called from the gym entrance.

"Um, cleaning?" I said, since that was the first excuse that came to my head.

"You're a really bad liar, y'know." He chuckled while coming inside the gym.

"Am not!" I said defensively.

"You're practicing by yourself?" He asked, seeing no one else was in the gym with me.

"Yeah."

"Do you want someone to practice with?"

"To be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing. I can't even keep this thing in the air for more than 15 seconds." I sighed.

"You just need a good coach. And that would be me." He said with a proud grin.

"You're gonna help me?"

"Of course. You already helped me and the team out a ton. The least I can do is teach you how to play volleyball."

"Thanks Suga." I smiled.

"HEY HEY HEY! N/n-chan!" Bokuto beamed as he ran towards me.

"Bokuto, stop yelling." I chuckled.

"I just got a great idea!" He grinned, wrapping an arm around my shoulders.

"Intrigue me."

"We should take Hinata and go somewhere. But later. Like at night or something." He whisper-shouted.

"Sneaking out with Hinata?"

"Yeah!"

"Sure, why not." I shrugged. "I'll tell Hinata later. Now get back to practice before you get in trouble."

After another practice match against Nekoma, I pulled Hinata aside.

"Hinata, can I talk to you for a second?"

"Oh sure!" He beamed as he made his way over to me.

"Do you wanna sneak out tonight with me and Bokuto?" I asked, getting straight to the point.

"Really?" He asked with stars in his eyes.

"Yeah."

"Where are we going? When are we leaving?" He asked.

"Calm down Sho-kun. The details aren't set in stone yet." I chuckled, ruffling his hair a little.

"Hehe. Sorry. I'm just so excited!"

"Okay, just be ready by 10pm, got it? Bokuto and I will meet you at your room."

"Yes ma'am!"
