Defending Jacob: The Aftermath Book 1

Andy couldn't stop think that Charlotte was up to something, that she was hiding from him. He just didn't know what, he kept thinking while he drove to the store, who was she texting this morning. She looked nervous with whoever she was contacting. He was believing her but just something inside of him was screaming she's in danger. She was so worried about the future, losing Andy, he knew in the past she lost her fiance, he told himself it is just bad memories getting to her. He figured once the truth was out there and Cliff was locked up for good she would relax. He needed to make the call, he pulled into a parking lot. He dial the prison and asked to speak to Billy Barber.

The phone was picked up on the other end. "Hello, who is this calling?" Billy said.

"Billy, I have some questions for you. I need you to answer them for me ok." Andy said.

"Hello son, so you want answers from me, haven't we done this already. You know the fucking answer. Just be a good father and husband." he said.

Andy was getting mad every time told him to be a good father, he has always been a good father to Jacob. "look it's not about that, I just need to know something from you." 

"Alright what is on your mind?" Billy asked.

Andy didn't want anyone to end up again like Patz he needed to make that very clear. "Look this can't end up like Patz you fucking got that?" Andy snapped.

Billy smiled on the other side of the phone, thinking Andy had he father temper in him. "Alright, than spit it out already." 

"Fine, You know anyone named Cliff Yoo that was in that prison?" he asked.

As soon as Billy heard the name he said fucker under his breath "Why are you asking about the mother fucker?" Billy was angry 

"So you know who he is than?" Andy said.

"Ya I know the asshole, what did he do this time? Why you asking?" Billy asked.

"Nothing, just wondering saw him in Newton, he was with one of Jacob's old friends there and looked into something. Yoo said he was reformed now." Andy said.

Billy laughed "Ya if you want to call it that, he ain't reformed at all 2 years ago he stabbed a guy in here. Don't let my grandson around him at all, and he shouldn't be anywhere near his nephew either." Billy said.

"Why heard he killed a guy, attacked a woman once before nothing more. I won't let Jacob around him at all." Andy said.

"That's what you found out, he was in here bragging how he got away with murdering his ex girlfriends boyfriend and their 3 year old kid. You think I am bad, but he got off on the fact that he killed a tiny kid. Keep him away from my grandkid." Billy snapped.

Andy just sat in the car in shock as Billy hung up on the other end. He knew that Charlotte was the ex girlfriend of Cliffs he had beaten before badly. He knew he had killed her fiance, even Ben but now to find out she had a child he killed as well. He started to cry for her, he almost lost his own son in a car accident they where lucky Jacob survived. She wasn't so lucky and than her nephew was killed by the same man. His phone started ringing he answered it.

"Dad you almost home so we can go fishing there is a near by pond, I found it online. Sarah is coming at 6pm is it ok if she has dinner with us?" Jacob asked.

Andy was coming down from the shock he had just learned. "Sure Jacob we can get a pizza, I'll be home in 10 minutes. Let's go catch some fish and make sure we are home by 5." Andy said.

Andy drove home, went inside, Jacob was waiting he had everything ready to load up in the car. Jacob was looking forward to fishing with Andy, he loved his dad and felt safe with him. Jacob did have something on his mind though, he was nervous to tell his dad, but Derek wouldn't stop texting him about it all.
