Keeping up with McFamily

SPECIAL DAY PT 3

After Derek's surprise, they all went inside and enjoyed the food while chatting with each other, there were Thanksgiving speeches from Richard, Ellis, Carolyn, Bailey,Derek and Meredith. After they all ate the ladies went to the kitchen to clean up the dishes, the husbands were outside playing with the kids and the grandparents were sitting in the lounge area, talking about life.

After everything was cleaned up, everyone gathered up in the lounge area and shared childhood stories and embarrassing each other. Then everyone left for the night except Ellis, Carolyn, Thatcher, Amelia, Maggie.

"So, Mer I have something for you, actually your mother gave it to me, so why don't we sit down and see what it is" smirked Derek and put the tape in the tape thingy(don't know what it's called)

"it's not what I think it, right?", chuckled Thatcher while taking a seat next to Ellis.

"It is" answered Ellis, laughing.

They all gathered on the couch and Bailey and Zola sat on the floor with pillows under them. Maggie rested her head on top of Amelia lap while Mer sat in between Derek's legs, her back against his chest.

The video started playing, a bit shaky at first but become clear, revealing a two year Mer wearing nothing but a diaper and her dirty blond all over the place. She was standing in front of the couch and her surgery kit and anatomy doll, all spread out on top of the couch.

"Awwww baby Mer" Amelia and Maggie cooed in high pitch voice. On the other hand Meredith was surprised to see this, she doesn't even remember this day, so she just sat there waiting for the rest of the video to play out.

"It is that you, mommy?" Bailey asked, turning to her mother and waiting for an answer.

"Yes..yes it is baby" answered Mer

"Mommy is so small, how did her so big" bailey asked with his eyes open wide. Everyone laughed at his question and Zola jumping to answer the question.

"Mommy grew up, Bailey" Zola rolled her eyes and answered the questions like it's the most obvious thing. "you will also grow up and be like daddy and i'll be big like mommy, right daddy?" zola continued and asked her father a question.

"Yes Zozo, you both will grow up and be tall as mommy and I" chuckled Derek.

"M'kay" sighed Bailey and they all focused back on the video.

"Mommy" a angry Meredith called her mom but before Ellis could respond Meredith continue. "Bunny called time dweath mommy but I still busy play surgewy mommy and..and i not done, he not posed to called time dweath, right mommy coz i not done, right mommy?" Meredith finished her question.

"Mer you knew what time of death is by the age of two?" a surprised Maggie asked.

"Well...I was basically raised in the hospital" chuckled Meredith.

"Ellis you ruined this kid" Thatcher said while laughing.

Thatcher and Ellis busted in laughter listening to their angry daughter go on and on about how "bunny" (her teddy bear she got from her father) called time of death on a patient but she's not done with her surgery.

"Mommy, why you laugh, mommy? asked Meredith with her small hands on her hips and frowned her eyebrows while looking at her mom.

"I'm sorry baby, you right bunny is not suppose to do that, so what are u going to go now?" chuckled Ellis.

To say Meredith was shocked to her mom, The Ellis Grey, call her 'baby' and even laugh OR even be at home and ACTUALLY interact with her daughter it's a big understatement. Meredith can't really remember these nice family times with both her parent because the bad times overthrows the good times.
