20 . The End

"A-Li, have you noticed something different about Yibo these days?"

Since their children grew up and started working, both women spent more time with each other. There were times when their sons would call to inform them they weren't coming home for the night, well, it was all part of being an adult but these days, Wang Lu had noticed something more, something she couldn't quite grasp but she knew there was something different.

Xiao Li simply chuckled. Of course she had noticed but the difference was with Xiao Zhan and given the fact that Xiao Zhan could hardly hide anything from her, she got first hand information that they had both worked things out and they had decided to be together as lovers. All of this happened over 3 months ago but Wang Lu was just starting to catch up.

"What do you mean by different?", Xiao Li decided to feign ignorance.

"Well, he smiles a lot more these days. He used to be free all weekend but now he is always engaged. He sleeps out a lot more often, he hardly eats at home but he always brings me takeout. Just this morning, he gave me a hug in the kitchen he said he wouldn't be back till Sunday!"

No matter how old their children got, parents would always worry about them. "Yibo is an adult now, he can take care of himself. Sleeping out for a few days doesn't mean he has changed. Maybe he is hanging out more with people his age. He has to make more friends you know, he has to make progress..."

"I know, I know but you missed the important point. Yibo hugged me! The last time he did that, he was 7 years old".

"Oh...", Xiao Li wondered what kind of relationship this mother-son duo had. She hugged her son almost every day, a little much more than she cared to admit.

"I really don't care too much if he sleeps out but this happens too often, he does this every week. Here I was thinking my son was back for good and never again would I spend a night alone in that house but out of the blues my son decided to start sleeping out. He only slept at your place in the past but these days, I don't even know where he goes".

Xiao Li was walking a few steps ahead of Wang Lu so she didn't notice the smile Xiao Li had on her face. Xiao Li was sure Wang Lu was going to freak out when she heard that Yibo was planning to move in with Xiao Zhan. They both agreed to move in together a few weeks prior and they already found a place. They went there every weekend to fix the place up and they spent their weekends there.

"A-Lu, do you and Yibo even talk?"

Wang Lu was taken aback slightly. Every since the first time they both talked about their sons, Wang Lu had no idea how their relationship had progressed. Yibo told her absolutely nothing even when she asked. "We do talk but Yibo hardly reveals anything about his personal life. I know Xiao Zhan tells you everything but instead of letting your friend in on it, you keep their secret for them. You don't have to tell me everything, just tell me the ones that concern Yibo".

Xiao Li nodded. Perhaps it was time to tell her. "Did Yibo tell you he was dating?"

Wang Lu flinched for a bit. She suspected it, Yibo was a little too happy these days and if he was dating, that meant he was dating Xiao Zhan.

She had been thinking of this for a while but being faced with a confirmation, she still wasn't prepared. Accepting her son being with another man was too difficult. How did Xiao Li do it? She had never been against homosexuality but when the person involved was her son, it was a little difficult.

"Since when have they been dating?"

Wang Lu had not said anything for the rest of their walk until they got into the house. They went grocery shopping together and they just arrived at her house.
