Oscar's POV

I tried my best to leave her be, I knew that she was going through a lot. My wolf wanted his mate, he was drawn to her as if there were an invisible cord tying them together. Whenever she walked into the room, he knew it. He could feel her, he needed her and honestly, so did I. Everything inside of me screamed for me to go to her, to tell her. I almost gave in when I watched that guy put his arms around her.

I was walking to my second hour when I saw her, she looked beautiful, her hair was falling down over her bare shoulders. I was walking towards her. After two days of not seeing her, my wolf was going crazy. I had texted her, it was Sam's idea, something that would seem less stalker-like than just turning up at her dorm. But I needed her, I needed her to know. I needed my mate.

Before I reached her, he came out and joined her. Mason. I knew him, he was friends with my sister. He put his arm around her shoulders, as if it were the most normal thing in the world. She just smiled up at him and they started walking away.

Why was she so comfortable with him but not me?

I'm her mate!

I thought she would want space, apparently, I was wrong. She just wanted space from me.

By third hour I was having trouble containing my wolf, he wanted to find Amelia. He wanted to tell her everything, he wanted to be accepted.

If you will not go to our mate, then I will. Xander growled at me.

God, having a wolf is annoying, all they do is growl at you and constantly talk in your head. It's like having a conjoined twin, you are never really alone.

Only if you're an idiot. Otherwise, we can be quite pleasant.

You are never pleasant.

My point exactly.

Stupid wolf.

We are not having this conversation again, she needs space. Her whole life has been changed; she needs time.

We are her mate. She needs us, we can help her feel better.

I couldn't stop myself from picturing Mason's arm around her, I just don't understand why she let him do that.

I will kill that stupid Fae if he touches her again.

Now that, we can agree on.

"Hey, dude, have you seen her yet?" Sam said, running towards me. I slowed my pace so he could catch up to me. We were going to the same place after all, Professor Alistair had asked us to help train the new class.

"Yeah, though I haven't spoken to her."

He looked confused, asking me why?

"Because she was with some other guy."

"What? What do you mean, with?"

"He had his arm around her," I growled, causing the other students around us to look at me in fear. Putting my head down, I kept walking to the arena. I just want this day to be over, I want to talk to my mate. I can't get her out of my mind. Her bright blue eyes, the way she twists her hair between her fingers when she's thinking. Her scent, pine, and coconut, with a hint of chocolate. That scent had been imprinted into my head; I swear I can smell it so clearly, even now.

"They could just be friends, she's nice. She's probably just made friends. Don't worry about it."

"They better be, or I'm going to kill him." Sam only nodded; his attention was elsewhere. Following his gaze, I saw her, Amelia. I can't stop myself from admiring her from afar. She's wearing skin-tight grey leggings and a matching grey sports bra. Her pale skin almost looks tanned against the light grey, she looked stunning. From the expressions of the men in the room, they thought so too.
