**Y/n's POV** It's been 8 months since I asked Timothèe for a divorce and although he said he'd do it he also suggested something, he said we should take a break for a couple of months and so I agreed to it well that didn't exactly work out why? you might ask.
Well he decided to get his own place and leave home we slowly had to explain to our kids what was going on between the two of us and of course, they weren't happy about it, our daughter has been doing some bad things in school recently that was her way of protesting against this.
Timothèe and I tried to assure them that everything would be fine but after 5 months he didn't come back home and I decided we should go through with the divorce meanwhile we were in the process of it I started dating a colleague of mine and he was good to me maybe that was what I needed right now.
Today the kids and I went to my parent's home, they always loved it there because of how crowded it gets I have three other siblings meaning I'm the middle child and all of them have children as well so everyone gets along with one another.
"Hi, Y/n" My mom greeted me sweetly as always "Hi mom is everyone here already?" She nodded and pointed at my two brothers playing basketball ball with my dad and the kids, I chuckled it was always such a good feeling to have the privilege of having family get-togethers like this.
Y/d/n and Y/s/n immediately ran outside to go play with everyone else and I went in the kitchen to help the others "So how are things with Christian." Asks Sarah my older sister while we're getting the plates "It's good." She looked at me curiously "You're definitely hiding something." I scoffed "I don't know what you're talking about." She rolled her eyes "Sure I believe that." I groaned "Fine you got me I feel sort of guilty." She put a hand on my shoulder "I think you should have a proper talk with Timothèe you two can't just run away from this by not talking about it." I frowned.
"Don't you think him not wanting to come back home is enough he clearly wants it to end right?"Sarah sighed "You don't know that." I shook my head admitting I didn't know anything about it "See please at least do this before you guys do anything you might regret later." I hugged her "Thank you." She smiled "Of course little sis." I laughed and we made our way to the garden to have food with everyone else.
After a while, I spotted Christian's car and I got up and walked to his car, this was a bad time the kids still didn't know I was dating someone and I didn't want them to find out this way, he got out of his car and I saw him holding a file "You forgot this at my office thought I should bring it for you." I rolled my eyes playfully "Come on you really didn't come all this way for a file." He wrapped his arms around my waist "Yeah maybe I missed you and wanted a kiss." I chuckled.
"Not now the kids are here and my whole family too." He sighed "It's just a kiss." I finally gave in and pressed a soft kiss on his lips and I got this feeling that someone was watching us but I just decided to ignore it until I heard someone clearing their throat, it was my dad.
We were both embarrassed "So I think you should come in." I looked at my dad "No it's fine he was leaving anyway." Christian had different plans though "No I'll just reschedule the meeting it's not nice to leave now Y/n." I gave him a death glare as he and dad walked inside.
Both my brothers stared at him and I could see my sister trying to hold in her laughter our dad was still overprotective over us and sure it's sweet but now that ruined my plans although I noticed Christian told the kids he was my friend and luckily they didn't question it and I was so thankful for that.
He taught them some tricks and they had a lot of fun with him and my family approved of him too but I couldn't get my mind off what Sarah told me she was right tomorrow Timothèe was coming to take the kids over to his place I decided I would ask him to go out for coffee so we could talk and I would leave the kids at my mom's place.

The kids were packing their bags because they would stay at Timothèe's overnight of course and I helped them the plan was for me to ask him today but as soon as I heard his car pull up I completely froze, he still had the keys to the house and he walked in.
The kids ran up to him and hugged him and I just stood there awkwardly, he noticed how tense it had gotten and tried to break the silence with small talk "So how are you?" My mind was still sort of blank "Uhh good, how about you?" I looked at him "Um yeah I'm good too." Our daughter couldn't hold her excitement in any longer "Dad let's go already." He chuckled "Okay okay." We all walked towards his car and he put their stuff away in the trunk "So um drive safe." He looked at me and smiled "Will do." They drove away and I mentally cursed myself I completely chickened out.
But, I was definitely going to ask him when he brought the kids back.
