"Good evening, Melinda. It's good to see you." I'm not going to say it's good to see you, but hello. "Therapy doesn't always have to be associated with trauma. We therapists are also here when you can't express yourselves the way you need to." You done? It doesn't matter what I think about coming here. As long as you help me and I pay you, we're great. "Let's unpack why you're here, then shall we?" I don't know why I'm here. "What have you been up to since we last spoke. How is your baby?" Good...she's great. Every moment with her has been a blessing. I got married in August. "I remember you mentioning the planning. How was it?" Perfect.....everything I could ever dream.
Melinda looked at herself in the mirror as the hairdresser continued to pin her hair into an intricate bun. Her face looked as if she had not a dab of makeup on. This woman had done some type of witchcraft to get this smooth look. It looked so natural, nothing crazy. Highlight was the centerpiece of the look. Light but shimmery when the light hit just right.
"Oooooooo look at youuuuuuuuu!" June blurted as she entered the dressing room. Brenda followed her in.
"Wow." Brenda breathed, getting a bit emotional looking at her younger sister.
"You look like mama." Brenda added, blinking away the mist trying to gather.
"I know...." Mel replied, she had been staring at herself for the longest time. She looked just like the picture of her mother on her wedding day.
"You okay?" June asked, as Jo reentered the room with a very much awake Saniyah.
"Don't ask that question. Of course she's fine." Jo chirped, Mel gave her a lazy half smile.
"Why do you say it like that?" June questioned, reaching out for her neice. Jo passed the 4 month old over pursing her lips.
"Cause I gave her 3 edibles." Jo answered, getting a look from Brenda.
"She can't be high on her wedding day!" Brenda snapped, Jo rolled her eyes hard.
"She'll be fine. Unless you have any valium on hand, then shut up. The bitch needed to calm down." Jo spat.
"What was wrong?" June frowned, glancing over at Mel.
"Trying to call Derrick to ask him if he still loved her and wanted to get married. Her worrisome ass was in full tears at 6am. No fucking ma'am." Jo grumbled, she literally had to near put Mel in a chokehold to leave the phones alone.
"Aw Mel if course he wants to get married still."
"Hell if I spent this much flying everyone to Cabo. Then a chunk on the wedding, I'd be getting married if i wanted to or not. Gotta get my money worth." Brenda spoke, getting three sets if glares.
"You are such a bitch! Are you self aware?" Jo tossed, there was no way someone could be this stupid. Bitch was a damn DNA link in Brenda.
"Ignore Mega Bitch please. He's marrying you because he loves you. Not because you guys cashed out for this." Jo voiced.
"My bad, I promise that sounded nicer in my head." Brenda muttered.
"I need you to triple check your words everytime you open your mouth. I'ma kick your ass and then kick your ass outta here." Jo warned, Brenda held up her hands in surrender.
"All done, hermosa. You look muy encantadora." The woman smiled, Melinda turned her head side to side getting a good look.
