Ash sighed and said, "I'm sorry. I'll say it for as long as I need to. However long it takes, I'm sorry". I huffed and said, "Sorry won't make Avery come back to life!". Ash looked back down, he looked ashamed.

I sighed, I don't hate him, for some reason I still want to go easy on him. I looked at him and said, "Why did you have to call him Ash? you could've let me die". Ash stood up, he looked angry. He yelled, "ARE YOU SERIOUS? YOU WERE MY GIRLFRIEND! I LOVED YOU, I STILL LOVE YOU. YOU THINK I WOULD JUST LET YOU DIE? NO, I WOULD DO WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE SURE YOU STAY ALIVE. CALL IT SELFISH BUT, I WILL NEVER BE SORRY ABOUT YOU BEING ALIVE".

My heartbeat quickened and I said, "You have the audacity to say that? I have the right to be mad right now, I have the right to be crying every day, I have the right to despise you for what you did". Ash looked at me and said, "I know you do but, you never told me you hate me for it. You know deep down you wanted to live. You know that deep down you were glad you didn't have to die". I'm ashamed because he's right, I'm not just mad at him, I'm mad at myself for being grateful that I'm alive.

Why can't I feel like how people do when their friends die? Why can't I say it should've been me? I started to tear up and said, "I don't hate you; I just can't be with someone who has no empathy towards someone's life. I feel like when I brought you into my world, it made you cold". Ash sat down closer and said, "No it made me better. You bringing me into your world made me grow as a person". Tears started to shed from my eyes, and I said, "Why do I hate myself so much for something I had no choice in. I hate myself because I'm mad at Avery too. Why did he do it? why did he do it inn front of my face?".

Ash leaned in and hugged me, I felt warm. I felt like me, I haven't felt this way in three years. No matter how much I hate to say it, he is my other half. I need him but, he needs me too. We need each other.

Ash started to cry with me, and he said, "I missed you so much". I hugged him tighter and said, "I did too". Ash laughed and said, "I also miss the friends you stole from me, can I have them back?". I laughed and said, "Yeah, yeah. Go ahead".

Ash laughed sadly and said, "Does this mean we are getting back together?". I laughed and said, "You're getting way to ahead of yourself, we have a lot of stuff to talk about". Ash said, "Fine but I'll wait for you, I'll wait for however long it takes". I smiled and said, "You better". I heard the door open, and Ash pulled away, Farrah said, "So you guys are talking again?".

Niko laughed and said, "Let's reveal this baby gender!". It's a boy. I gasped and Farrah looked at me surprised. She walked backward and whispered, "Did you just read my mind?". I laughed and said, "Maybe".

Farrah smiled and said, "I'm glad I'm getting my old Adalyn back, who knew it would be because of a boy". I rolled my eyes and Freddie walked in from the front door. Carmen and Genie was behind him, Genie saw me and hugged me. She said, "I missed you sis". I laughed and said, "Me too!".

Carmen looked directly at Ash and looked back at me. Carmen whispered, "I thought you hated him, why is he here?". I whispered, "I didn't know he was coming but, we are back on the right track". Carmen side hugged me and put the cake on the counter. Another knock on the door came so I got up and opened the door.

Auggie and Rose were standing there with their small gifts, and I hugged Rose. She said, "Hey!". I smiled and invited them in, Rose sat the gift on the counter and sat back down on the couch. Ace ran in behind them and said, "Jeez, I'm sick of third wheeling all the time, why am I the only one that's single?". Carmen and Freddie turned around and looked at Ace.

Ace said, "No homo but, at this point I'm desperate". Freddie's eyes widened and said, "Okay James Charles". Blue started cackling so naturally everyone else in the room started laughing too. Lili came downstairs from her room and said, "Oh hey, when did you guys get here?". I laughed and said, "Were you sleep?".

She nodded and said, "Yeah, I'm pretty tired". I sighed and said, "Why?". Lili said, "College stuff". I furrowed my brows and said, "Blue your child is not normal!". Farrah said, "Exactly, what child you know in college at nine years old?".

Freddie said, "Smart kids get big gigs". Carmen furrowed his brows and said, "Huh? Don't say stupid stuff like that". I laughed and said, "Farrah, remember that time I broke the swings!?". Farrah sighed and said, "Yeah wasn't Ash there too?". I laughed and said, "Yeah it was his idea to bring us there!".

Niko said, "That's when you learned to never use telekinesis on a swing, you almost died, again".  Ash and I started laughing and I said, "Shut up, I'm going to put you on that swing". Ash laughed and said, "At least I won't break it". August sighed and said, "Rose, do you want a water?". She shook her head and August got up but, not without staring at me.

I got the hint and followed him. August said, "So you rekindled that fire". I furrowed my brows and said, "We are just friends for right now, no funny business". August said, "I know but, you seem lighter". I smiled and said, "Well, Ash has always had that effect on me". Blue yelled, "Guy's it's time to cut the cake".

Everyone gathered around the cake, Niko said, "The color of the inside of the cake will tell you the baby's gender". Blue leaned in and cut a piece, she gasped, and everyone saw the cake color was blue. I said, "So what are you going to name the baby?". Blue said, "Avery".

OMFG 😭this is probably the most heart warming thing but as a writer I wrote it with the most stern focused face now that I think about it makes me laugh
