🍋 Quiet Time (Gohan x Reader)

Listening to the professor was beginning to feel dreadful. It felt like the longest 75 minutes of your life before you could finally be freed. It was one of your hardest subjects too. Accounting. What a torturous subject.

You practically ran out the door to get away from his monotone voice once the time struck 12:15. It was hard to listen to that man without falling asleep. You had to reteach everything yourself via problem sets afterward anyway. You walked to the campus cafe to get something to eat before you settled into the library for today's study session. You couldn't decide between a simple sandwich or a small hand pie to diminish your hunger for the moment. But you knew you were getting a strong coffee regardless of the decision.

You stood in the line while you were thinking about which flavor you wanted to taste that day and finally decided on a chicken panini. The line was long, so there was plenty of time to change your mind if you wanted to. While waiting, you attempted to prevent yourself from thinking about how much time you were about to spend in the quietest part of the library. You looked around to see who was in the building already. You lived on campus but didn't have many friends other than your roommate. So you knew almost everyone from class but didn't know anything else beyond their name.

You didn't have a significant other either. You were focused on getting good grades and working on getting an internship of some sort. The future was uncertain but doing nothing about it wasn't going to make that fact more digestible.

You ordered a borderline plain iced coffee, with only one pump of your favorite flavor syrup and a pump of classic to make it barely drinkable. You needed the most caffeine you could get to make it through today. You paid for your coffee and food and waited at the pickup station. You checked to see if you brought your calculator and laptop. Once you confirmed, you waited patiently.

After you got your things, you went upstairs to see if you had to fight over your favorite spot today. It was on the top floor of the building, about four stories. By the time you reached the top, you were starting to get out of breath. This was better compared to you being completely out of breath at the beginning of the semester.

You settled down at a spot in front of a window. It was barely 1 in the afternoon, so there was plenty of natural light that shined in that day. You got out your laptop, logged in, and waited for the desktop to load. It normally takes a minute because your laptop is about 5 years old (but hey, it was free). You looked around to see if there was anyone else today.

Today, there was a man! Normally, there would be a couple of girls scattered throughout the floor, but today, there was a singular man! He sat on the other side of the floor, and his nose was deep in the textbook he was reading. You briefly scanned his back as his back was turned to you. He was practically busting out his shirt. His back muscles were showing through what seemed like a thin shirt. You widened your eyes in slight shock; you couldn't believe a jock like him was up here so early in the semester. No one else was around for some reason?

You turned back around to see your desktop ready to go. You began to do everything you usually do and start the problem sets.

**

You did everything you could. You tried. You had spent an hour in this building and found yourself one-third of the way through. You attempted each problem at least three different times, and this problem about adjusting journals got you. You exhaled sharply in frustration. You did not feel like going to this professor's office hours and you didn't have enough money for Chegg. This is the moment you thought would have made you drop the course. Well, you couldn't.

You rubbed your temples with your fingers hoping some magic would happen to make you smarter or something. You stared at the screen and cursed to yourself about why you chose this class, why you decided to go to this school and why you decided on this stupid major. I probably just need a break you thought. You stood up and decided to walk around the room to look at all of the old textbooks and lawbooks that have been collecting dust.
