**Hi! This one-shot is another long one. I tried to work on some plot development here. Let me know if you like it and feel free to drop any more requests through message!! Thanks for reading!**
Such a busy day it was for you. The investment bank you worked at had you working like crazy around this time of year. The office was usually buzzing with side conversations and laughter however it was now only filled with the sounds of clicks and keyboard typing. It was crazy really, seeing even the goofiest coworkers stay quiet for a change.
Despite it only being noon, you already had enough of the bright computer screen. The blue light filter in your glasses no longer was sufficient in preventing another headache and you couldn't turn the brightness any lower. You glanced at the clock then back at the screen. It was time to eat.
You had been up since 6 a.m. doing the normal routine that prevented you from going insane: working out, making a coffee, doing the minimum to feel cleaned up, making breakfast. Calling yourself tired by noon was an understatement for you.
You closed down and put everything away near your desk. Exiting the office, you took the elevator down to the bottom floor and walked as fast as you could out of there. The blinding sunlight caused you to cover your eyes as you speed-walked past the door. Once you felt the fresh air, you took the largest breath to feel the freedom (that would only last an hour).
It was so warm outside, it felt like the sun was giving you a welcoming hug home. The slacks you were wearing could finally pick up on some heat that the office was missing.
Once your eyes adjusted to the brightness of the outside, you realized you didn't even know what you wanted to eat. However, you decided to distract yourself with the small errands that needed to be completed. One of those errands included getting another cup of coffee. You didn't know if you could push through the rest of the day without it.
Straightening your slacks, you started walking to the coffee shop that considered you the "pleasant regular". It was given to you after you consistently gave them at least five dollars in tips each time you paid a visit (which was every day, almost). It was next door, relieving you of having to get in your car to drive. Walking in, you almost moaned at the smell of wonderful coffee and the sight of a short line. You couldn't help but smile.
A very bored Goten was behind the counter, distracting himself with the swirling coffee and ice in the blender. He had been up since 4 a.m. opening the store with the manager since he was the fastest. He was also tired, but mostly bored. He waited until it was finished to open the blender with what felt like a torturous slow speed to him. He then poured it into a plastic cup and topped it with whipped cream before placing a plastic dome top on it and sliding it to the serving counter.
He couldn't believe that his mom stopped supporting his fashion fetishes and forced him to get a job. He could've worked at Capsule Corp with Trunks but he found that more deathly boring compared to this. Besides, there weren't any cute girls to ogle at, other than the secretary that Trunks already called dibs on.
Goten turned around to look at the next mobile order that printed out. He frowned at the sight of some complicated order that was behind the one he was starting to make. With muscle memory, he prepared espresso for the machine and placed a shot glass under it to catch the drip. He grabbed a milk carton and began to pour, letting his muscle memory take care of the rest. He looked up to see you at the front, being the next customer to place an order.
His eyes gleamed, admiring you looking at the small coffee bags that were on display on the shelves. You looked at the rustic decor with what he thought was admiration. You were his favorite with the reason being a bit more than you being considered a big tipper. You were the nicest person to look at and listen to amongst all of the morning and lunch crowds. He only took your order once when you came in one early morning, too lazy to make your own food and coffee that day.
