It started so casually that they didn't even realize that what they did every Saturday, became their normal routine. And it all began with an early phone call:

"Good morning, Reki. Wanna get some breakfast with me?" Langa said on the other line of the phone, sounding very excited for some reason.

Reki was still half-asleep, he checked the hour and rubbed with his hand the laziness off of his eyes.

"What the heck, dude? it's just 8 in the morning..." he said trying to sound annoyed, but the redhead was already kicking the bed sheets off of himself to get up.

"Yeah, I know. But yesterday on my way home I saw a really cute coffee shop that I'm sure you're gonna love. And I wanted to bring you there." Reki could imagine the sparkling on Langa's eyes while he talked about that mysterious coffee shop.

But the redhead froze on his way to the closet... 'is Langa taking me on a date? Naaah, no way.' He asked to himself trying not to gay panic. He shaked his head trying not to think too hard about it... for now.

"But why so early?" he complained instead, groaning loudly.

"To avoid any chances to go when it could be all crowded?" he tried.

Reki thought about it for a second, humming to himself.

"Yeah, that sounds fair. I'll be on our spot soon." he finally said, grabbing his clothes and making his way to the shower.

"See ya." Langa said before ending the call.

15 minutes later, Reki was skating his way to their spot, where Langa was already waiting for him.

"Hey!" Reki called with a bright smile, ready to dap as soon as he was close enough to his best friend. "How far away is the coffee shop?"

"Mmh like 10 minutes from here more or less." Langa said, cocking his head.

"Then lead the way!" Reki cheered, making Langa smile.

It was nice to skate so early in the morning, when the sky was still plastered in pastel colors and there weren't too many people on the streets. And Langa was right, the coffee shop wasn't that far from his way home, and as he earlier predicted, it wasn't crowded at this hour.

It was a nice place, it wasn't too big, but neither too small. It was intimate and it smelled so good with all the bakery, sweets and the coffee making.

"What do you want? My treat." Langa said with a determined look, with his wallet in his hands, ready to pay for their breakfast.

"Are you sure? I don't mind paying, really." Reki said flustered, rubbing the back of his neck.

"I'm totally sure. Now pick whatever you want." he answered, pointing with his head to the display of sweets.

"Okay, if you insist. Mmm I think I'm gonna try this." Reki said, pointing to the chocolate cake. "Wanna share?" he suggested.

"Yeah, that would be nice. Do you want to share a smoothie too?" Langa suggested, pointing with his finger a list of a variety of smoothies.

"Sure, pick the one that you want. It's only fair after I've chosen the cake." Reki said with a bright smile.

"Mmm, how does mango sound?" he asked, trying to figure out which one to try.

"Sounds awesome, dude." Reki beamed at him.

"Perfect. Then I'm gonna get our order. If you want, get ahead and pick where you want to sit." Langa said with a little smile.

Reki nodded and got to sit. He chose a table near the window where the sea was visible. The sun was slowly making everything more brightly, fading away the earlier pastel colors that painted all the sky.
