Kojiro knew he wanted to have kids with Kaoru in the future... but when he thought about starting a family, this wasn't what he had in mind at all. And now here he was with his husband, Shadow, Reki and Langa at Miya's Sports Day at his school, cheering him like he was his son.

Miya's parents had to work the day of the festival, so he'd asked nonchalantly to his friends if they didn't have any plans already that day if they would like to come to cheer him.

Reki was the first to eagerly say he would love to come to see him, followed by Kaoru. Langa and Shadow nodded in agreement, and Kojiro was already thinking about what he should cook for everyone's bentos.

Miya thanked them for their support in that flatly and neutral way he had when he was trying to hide how much something meant to him. Kojiro was proud to say he knew Miya pretty well by now, and he only needed to see how his eyes gleamed a little bit more than usual to know how big of a deal it was for Miya to have his friends with him at the festival. He wouldn't miss going and cheering him on for nothing in this world.

Reki had made for the whole gang 'Chinen Team' shirts. It was ridiculous, and so, so incredibly sweet that not even Kaoru refused to wear them. And so here they were, being Miya's honorary family for the day.

As soon as they arrived at Miya's school, they sat down on the bleachers. Reki was more energetic than usual, bouncing his legs and moving his arms frantically, he was so hyped to cheer for his friend.

"Reki, can you calm down for a bit, please?" Kaoru put his hand on Reki's leg, trying to stop his bouncing. "He's not even out there yet. Save the energy for later." he added with a small smile.

"Sorry, dude. I'm just so excited!" Reki apologized with a bright smile.

"Are you this hyped for your sisters on their festivals too?" Shadow amusedly asked.

"Probably." Langa answered with a fond smile.

Reki beamed at Langa.

"Of course I am! I love to cheer for all my siblings equally!" he said, bumping a fist to the sky.

Kojiro smiled softly, Reki was full on brother mode today and he was sure Miya would love to know that later.

When the kids finally appeared, forming groups in front of their families, everyone started to cheer and clap.

"Miya!!" Shadow shouted standing up. Soon after, Reki and Kaoru followed him.

Kojiro laughed. Miya looked at them looking equally embarrassed and happy to see them.

They really looked like a family, didn't they?

The kids did a little parade, then, the principal of Miya's school gave a speech and the festival finally began.

The festival started with a warm up, followed by a game of tug of war. Miya was at the lead of his team, pulling the rope with all his strength.

"Come on, Miya!!" Reki and Langa shouted.

Shadow was screaming at the top of his lungs, scaring the closest families.

"You can do it, son!" Kaoru shouted, and then he froze realizing what he had said.

Kojiro thought it was really fun how involved they all were, and he wasn't gonna be the only one that didn't cheer on his honorary son.

"Show them all who's the best team!" Kojiro shouted.

With a few more strong pulls, Miya's team won.

"YAS!!" Reki stood up to whistle and clap loudly. The rest of the gang followed him.
