Langa loved Reki's creative side, and he loved that Reki's love language was by giving to his loved ones his art creations. At first, when Langa moved to Okinawa, his room was really plain, but after months of being by Reki's side, now his room looked like a little art gallery.
And that wasn't all. Not only Reki was good at painting, sculpting and crafting in general. He was the best at doing little accessories too, like doing bracelets, necklaces, rings, headbands and Langa's favourites: hair ties.
It may sound silly, but he loved every time Reki made a new hair tie for him, and then he'd do his hair on a bun, a little pony tail, a braid... it didn't matter. What mattered was that Langa loved that Reki put so much attention to his hair, brushing his fingers delicately through his light blue strands.
His most favorite hair tie was the one with the Yeti paw, it was so adorable. Langa always carried it with him; always eager to ask Reki to do his hair. And it never failed to make his heart beat faster and faster looking at Reki's bright smile after he'd done it.
"Cute." Reki would say affectionately after securing the hair tie.
And Langa always had on the tip of his tongue 'you're cuter', but he never told him so, too mesmerized with Reki's beauty and sunshine-y smile. It seemed like he was in trance.
Well... in some way, he was.
However, he was determined not only to tell Reki how cute he thought he was, but to confess his feelings for him too.
Tomorrow, he'll confess.
When tomorrow arrived, he didn't confess.
It started like usual.
"Reki, wanna do my hair?" Langa asked, blushing lightly.
"Of course, man!" Reki answered with a grin.
Langa offered the hair tie and Reki took it. He brushed Langa's hair carefully with his fingers, undoing the little knots across his strands. Langa closed his eyes immediately at the pleasant sensation, trying very hard not to purr.
Reki always sang to himself while doing his hair, and that was another thing to add to his list of 'things that makes Reki the cutest'. When he finished combing his hair with his fingers, he started to braid it with practice, like always. Reki was used to doing his sisters hair and he enjoyed doing Langa's the most. This time he did a beautiful braid that went from the right side of his head and went all the way to the left side. It was amazing what Reki could do even if Langa's hair didn't seem too long to make elaborate hairstyles. And despite that, Reki always manages to make it work.
"Done!" Reki said, brushing carefully the loose strands that framed Langa's face. Looking at him tenderly and making his heart beat faster. That was it, Langa had to confess his feelings right now. "Cute." Reki blurted, squeezing Langa's cheeks and smiling brightly as the sun.
And then, Langa's mind went blank again.
After they spent the rest of the day together, Langa was too focused on looking lovingly at Reki while he skated, thinking how cute and precious he was. Langa totally forgot, again, what he wanted to tell him.
When he was dining with his mom that night, the realization came hitting him like a truck.
"Not again!" he groaned loudly, hiding his face in his hands.
Nanako jumped on her site, startled.
"Not again what?" Nanako worriedly asked. Looking between her son and Oliver's picture, preparing herself mentally with her 'what Oliver would do?' mantra for whatever Langa would tell her.
