After a deep breath, you look into the hardened eyes of General Gorou.

"Yes. I am."

"As am I," the Traveler agrees.

Gorou smiles. "Good. It so happens that I've just gotten word that there are three new people on the Shogun's most wanted list. I had a feeling you two were involved."

His fluffy ears twitch, and he looks at you and the Traveler more closely. "The report mentioned the elements, but I don't see a Vision on either of you..."

Teppei lights up. "Oh, it's just incredible! The Traveler can use elemental magic without a Vision, and their companion can heal with a hydro Vision!"

You pull your Vision out of your pack with a grin. It's always nice to surprise people.

Gorou nods in approval. "Very good, we could always use more vision-bearers. On behalf of the Resistance, welcome to our ranks. Her Excellency will be quite pleased. Now then..."

His face grows serious once again, and the general looks around at his men. "Teppei, please escort the Traveler to our camp and show them around before they are dispatched to the front lines. If they are ready, of course?"

The Traveler smiles. "I'm ready."

"Y-Yes sir! You can count on me, I know the camp like the back of my hand" Teppei stammers. You notice that he seems very excited about this assignment. But, you were confused. Why weren't you going with them?

"And you?" Gorou continues. "I believe your name was Y/N, correct?"

You nod quickly. "That's me!"

"Good. Please come with me, we could use all the healers we can get for the injured at the field hospital." Gorou explains.

Ohhhh, that makes sense!

You smile softly. "I'm happy to help."

You follow General Gorou down the thundering shore. Above you, countless ominous and erratic bolts of purple electricity light up the overcast skies.

Eventually, Gorou leads you to a small clearing, where soldiers rush back and forth carrying medical supplies to their comrades. Your heart sinks at the sheer number of wounded fighters. You knew it would be bad, but not this bad.

Seeing your sad expression, Gorou speaks confidently. "No need for pity. They all were willing to pay the ultimate price for their beliefs. A warrior's will is not so easily wounded. Most are eager to join us again as brothers on the battlefield as soon as possible."

"A warrior's will..." you murmur. Stepping forward, you kneel down before the nearest injured soldier.

He looks at you, and the fire behind his eyes is clear to see. "You a new recruit?"

"Yep, I'm here to help."

The soldier coughs" Ahem, that's good. Maybe we could spar sometime."

"I'd be glad to." You say. Placing the tip of your spear into the ground, you brgin to focus deeply.

You think of the hardships of these fighters, the hopes and dreams of Inazuma's people. The River of emotions behind the actions of the Resistance. You think of Kazuha.

Rush of a river
Sweet as a spring
Courage of a current

Bubbles once again float from the edge of your spear, but this time was different. Before, they slowly grew larger and larger. This time, they rapidly float towards the wounded people around you. Wave after wave of glittering spheres of healing unleash from your spear, and they even begin to block your vision.

You stay this way for the next few minutes, as General Gorou stands by speechless. The soldiers gasp and yell, until they realize the bubbles were slowly closing and healing stinging wounds.

Finally, the wave of bubbles begins to slow down, and you realize that your clothes are now soaking wet.

Great.

"That was..." General Gorou begins in amazement, but trails off. "I-I don't even think I have the words. Thank you,"

You wipe the water from your forehead. "It's no big deal, really. Anything I can do to help."

What you didn't mention was that you felt like you could sleep for days. You'd never admit it, but after healing a large number of people, your body always felt drained and exhausted.

The eyes of the soldier before you glimmers in awe. "Wow... so your a healer? You're just like Her Excellency."

Another of the wounded soldiers walks over to you and bows gratefully. "Honestly, I-I was beginning to lose hope after all the losses we've sustained," he says. "But with new recruits like you, there's no way we can lose!"

"That's the spirit!" you reply, pumping your fist in the air. The soldiers holler in excitement.

You feel a hand on your shoulder and look over to see a happy Gorou. "Come on now, I'll show back to the camp so you can rest for the night."

Was his tail... wagging?

"Got it. Get well soon everyone! We can do this!" you wave to the excited soldiers.

As you begin the trek back to the main camp, General Gorou sighs deeply. "I haven't seen the soldiers that enthusiastic in a while now, not since a good friend of mine fought on the front with us."

A friend...? Hold on!

You take a deep breath, but decide to go for it.
"Did this friend happen to be a red-clad samurai?" You say, half-jokingly. Gorou's cyan eyes widen.

His ears twitch vigorously. "Yes! Have you met Kazuha?"

Far to the north of Nazuchi Beach speeds a sturdy ship through the orange-tinted waters, its crew standing at the ready.

Captain Beidou looks to the clouds.

A storm is brewing.
