Hurry, hurry!
You will your legs to move faster as you do your best to keep up with Teppei and the Traveler.
"So if you quietly surrender them, we'll leave, A respite from bloodshed would be beneficial for you." you hear a woman say as the three of you make it to the sandy battlefield.
"Never!" There was General Gorou standing tall as he faces an army of soldiers led by a woman with eyes like daggers. You assume that she is Kujou Sara, General of the Shogun's army. As Gorou is to Sangonomiya, Sara is to the Shogun.
She quickly notices your presence, and turns to the Traveler.
"There you are. I will extend to you the same offer I have extended to your General here. Turn yourself over to me and my army, and we will leave without conflict. I will only offer this once."
"Don't bother!" Gorou scoffs. "We'd never abandon one of our own! Her Excellency made that clear to us from the very beginning!"
He looks to the Traveler. "Don't even consider it. You're our comrade now, and we fight side by side."
The Traveler simply smiles.
Sara clenches her fists. "Fine then. I'll change my proposal. I challenge you to a duel, each of us honoring our respective allegiances. What do you say?"
"Traveler, this could be dangerous." You caution them.
"Yes. She clearly wishes to use the match to capture you." Gorou agrees.
"Don't worry, I accept." They say with confidence before stepping forward.
"I see. Then let us begin." Sara draws her bow. The Traveler draws their sword.
With a slash and an arrow, the fight begins. You smile as the Traveler gains more and more ground, but feel as though something was off.
Then, you hear a growl from Gorou's direction and follow his gaze. Other soldiers were slowly surrounding the Traveler.
Sara smirks. "Heh, stronger than I anticipated. Soldiers, attack! For the Shogun, and her EVERLASTING REIGN!"
Gorou raises his own bow high into the air. "Prepare to engage! Everyone, WITH ME!"
You freeze.
W-Wait! I'm in the way!
You quickly fall back to the brush as soldiers rush past you in a frenzy. You pull out your trusty spear, shooting round after round of bubbles towards the fighting Resistance troops before you. You clench your teeth, ignoring the wave of exhaustion creeping up on you.
C'mon, c'mon! This isn't the time to be tired!
"Stand firm, hold the line!" Gorou yells, shooting geo-charged artows into the crowd of enemies before him.
Stand firm! Stand firm!
"Knock out their healers!" Sara calls to her own fighters. You gulp.
That healer was you.
Despite your efforts, you falter for just a moment, your spear slightly dipping to the ground. However, during that small opening, an electro-charged arrow comes zooming towards you. Your heart catches in your throat and you shut your eyes tightly.
No!
Suddenly, you feel something swiftly grab your arm from the brush behind you, yanking you backwards. You fall back, the arrow soaring over your head.
W-Woah?!
Before you hit the ground, an arm firmly wraps around your waist as your wrist is let go. You gasp, and look up into the smiling crimson eyes of Kaedehara Kazuha.
You blink slowly. "K-Kazu—"
"Shhhh. Watch." He shushes you quietly, looking past your leafy hiding spot towards the battlefield.
That's when you see them.
Raindrops, falling from the stormy sky, growing larger in number by the second. You see Gorou pause for a moment on the field, looking up.
Whoosh!
With a flash of blue, the heavens open and a beautiful girl descends gracefully.
"H-Her Excellency!" The soldiers cry.
Sangonomiya!
Kazuha slowly releases your waist, placing his hands on the hilt of his turquiose sword.
He smiles at you fondly, a glint in his eyes.
"It's time."
You nod, readying your own spear.
The pretty maiden on the battlefield raises her hand, a swirl of blue dancing on her fingertips. "It is time, my comrades! This is our moment!"
Kazuha rushes forward, almost floating off the ground. "Calm as the breeze, my lady!" You rush to keep up with him.
From the brush to your right comes Captain Beidou and her crew, along with dozens of mercenaries weilding all kinds of weapons with ease.
"Hope you all can afford all these merc's!" Beidou grins as she slashes opponents left and right.
Kazuha easily slices his way across the battlefield towards General Gorou at the thick of the fight. You follow behind, stabbing your own fair share of enemies as well.
General Gorou's eyes widen as he spots Kazuha. "Kazuha!" He yells, his ears twitching wildly.
"We meet again, old friend." Kazuha calls with a friendly smile. Your heart grows warm seeing the two reunited.
The battle carries on, Shogun soldiers falling one after the other. Kujou Sara seethes with rage, but lowers her bow.
"Troops, fall back! Retreat!" She finally calls.
As fighters retreat, you lower your spear.
Kazuha stands to your right. Gorou stands to your left. Teppei and the soldiers hoot and holler. Beidou and her crew join them. The Traveler meets your gaze.
Lady Sangonomiya approaches you all.
It's over.
