Episode 1

"Welcome to yet another semester here at Westfield University. You’re all welcome, remember to be nice to the first year students." The principal announce to all the students gathered in the classroom.

There was a group of five boys sitting at the back and they were best friends despite how different they were: Chengxin, Yaxuan, Yaowen, Haoxiang and Junlin. But at this particular time, Chengxin was not with his friends. He had gone to sleep in his room because he wasn't interested in the welcome speech by the principal.

"We will not be nice to them," Junlin spoke to himself when he heard a phone vibration in his pocket. He took the cellphone out and checked the contact: then realised it wasn't his phone. "Oh I forgot Chengxin told me to keep his phone for him." He told his friends.

"So who's calling Chengxin?" Yaowen asked curious.

"Xiao Ma" Junlin read the sentence exactly as it was saved on Chengxin's cellphone. All the friends frown at the mention of Jiaqi's name.

Jiaqi was a rich non-residential student of the school. He was a sheltered child who lived in a mansion and never came to campus, he took all his lessons online. Chengxin's friends wouldn't have a problem with Jiaqi and Chengxin's affair if Jiaqi didn't have a famous boyfriend whom everyone knew very well: Zhang Zhenyuan.

"And they also had a text conversation," Junlin continued. "Let me read them."

The boys leaned in to hear the messages from Jiaqi to Chengxin very clearly, and making sure no other students heard them as well.

Junlin started to read outloud:

Chengxin: hey beautiful, where did we leave off?

Xiao Ma: Who’s this?

Chengxin: Oh come on, get real. It's Chengxin.

Xiao Ma: Oh the guy from the university 🙂 hi

Chengxin: Babe you’re being so platonic as if…Y? Regrets?

Xiao Ma: you’re just a dude I met Chengxin.

Chengxin: you didn't make it seem like I was just a dude last time

The boys covered their mouths in disbelief at the content of the messages, was Chengxin really trying to flirt with Jiaqi? The extremely popular and rich student who had a boyfriend?

"What are you idiots doing?" Chengxin's voice asked behind them.

The boys screamed in terror at the speaker, not wanting him to realize they were reading his messages.

"Nothing!" Junlin shouted and sneakily turned off the screen of the phone.

"Whatever, I forgot my cellphone," Chengxin opened his palm.

Junlin quickly put the cellphone in his palm and he nodded and walked away. The boys sighed in relief.

"Oh geez, they've only met once but Chengxin is so into Jiaqi," Yaowen explained. The two had met once when Jiaqi had come to the school for the first time in a year to collect some forms. When they had met, Chengxin didn't waste any time approaching the boy whom he found attractive, and Jiaqi was smitten. But Jiaqi had a boyfriend, so he knew flirting with Chengxin that day wouldn't lead to anything further.

"I don't know what's going on but Chengxin can't mess with a rich kid who has a boyfriend!" Haoxiang commented next.

"Who knows?" Junlin shrugged. "Chengxin is suave. I heard Zhenyuan is very busy with school right now and Jiaqi is just cold to his boyfriend. Chengxin could use this as an opportunity."

❤️A/N: hello guys! Your lovely author is back! I thought of making this book a series so that I could continually put my ideas in it! Since it is a series, I won't be focusing on just one ship. The ships can get together, break up, make up etc. Also, I have used this technique in this chapter where a story seems to start out of nowhere then the explanations come after.
