Episode 18

"So do you mind explaining to me why you kissed another guy?" Jiaqi asked Chengxin with his arms folded in Jiaqi's room.

"Geez don't you kiss Zhenyuan?" Chengxin answered angrily.

"It's different, I kiss Zhenyuan because I have to. Not because I want to." Jiaqi explained.

"Maybe I also kissed Yaxuan because I had to, because he's my friend and I didn't want him sad." He answered proudly. "Jiaqi, it's not fair that you can have a boyfriend and I can't. Our relationship is hopeless so I should at least have someone serious too just like you do. It's only fair."

Jiaqi felt angry, but Chengxin was right. "Oh I see...so you've always liked Yaxuan?"

"He's cute." Chengxin shrugged. "Just understand. When this is over, I can at least have someone to hold."

Jiaqi nodded painfully. He knew he had to accept it no matter how jealous he was. If he rejected it, it would make him selfish. He had to swallow his jealousy and accept things. Which also meant he had no right to attack Yaxuan anymore.

Meanwhile, Yaxuan was sitting in the cafeteria with his friends and was restless. He was thinking about Chengxin's words still. It had been two days, and he didn't know whether he was going to accept Chengxin or not. It felt wrong yet felt like his only chance of ever having Chengxin.

"Are you okay?" Yaowen asked him.

"Yeah sure," Yaxuan answered.

Haoxiang looked at Yaowen - he was so handsome. The problem was that he doubted if Yaowen liked him back, or if he even noticed him.

"Hey Yaowen, a lot of people are dating in college, when will you date?" Haoxiang asked Yaowen just to get a peek into his brain.

"I don't know," Yaowen answered. "I'm just not into that stuff but maybe next year."

"Will you date a guy or a girl?" Haoxiang continued.

Yaxuan almost spitted his drink out and looked at Haoxiang in surprise. "A girl of course. Don't get me wrong, I'm not gay."

"Oh," Haoxiang tried his best to not sound disappointed.

"Wow Haoxiang, if I didn't know better I'd say you have a crush on Yaowen." Junlin teased. "Doesn't it sound like that Yaxuan?"

"Huh what?" Yaxuan looked up from his cellphone, clearly not following the conversation.

"Nothing, you're clearly not here." Junlin groaned and looked out the window.

Then, Yaxuan did what he cursed himself for. He wrote Chengxin a message:

Yes I will be your boyfriend
✓delivered
✓✓read

Yaxuan suddenly panicked and felt like deleting the message. He wondered if he had made the right decision but there was no escaping it now. He quickly turned off his cellphone and looked at his friends nervously.

"I think I did something really stupid." He said to himself.
