The next day, at 7 am before classes started, Yaxuan sat in the school park with some of his friends reading Jiaqi’s diary. “Chengxin is different, it’s only been a few days, I feel like I miss him. When he called, I felt electricity rush down my spine the moment I heard his voice, I know he’s just someone I know but I want him by my side forever. I love Zhenyuan, but I never felt happy until…Chengxin,” Yaxuan gulped fearfully once he finished reading. “That’s the first entry…it’s like he got more obsessed every day. I’m worried about the both of them.”
Some of the boys covered their mouths.
“What are we gonna do?” Yaowen sighed. “Talk to him perhaps? We’ll see if he comes, it’s only 7 and his class starts at 10."
“I don’t think he’d listen to us,” Yaxuan shifted his glasses. “How about I show the diary to Jiaqi’s dad…and then Jiaqi’s dad will talk to him. Everyone listens to their dad.”
“No!” Haoxiang immediately interrupt. “We’re going to solve this issue ourselves. Maybe Jiaqi’s dad will be too mad and he will do something terrible.”
“Hey, he wouldn’t, but my biggest worry is this,” Yaxuan pulled his two friends closer. “What if they get attached to each other? It already seems like they are. Then they’ll both get very hurt when it ends.”
“Oh my goodness,” Yaowen whispered.
“Hey what’s going on there and why wasn’t I invited!?” Junlin’s voice interrupted as he walked closer to the trio.
“Cause it’s none of your business,” Haoxiang answered cold because Junlin was known for gossiping and spreading issues.
“What? A dumb diary?” Haoxiang asked once he walked closer to them. He snatched the diary from Yaxuan’s arms. “Catch me if you can!” Junlin started to run off with the diary.
“Junlin!” Yaowen shouted and started running after him to get the diary.
“Junlin come back!” Haoxiang shouted as well and started to chase him, but he tripped over a rock and fell.
“Oh no, I knew I should have returned it!” Yaxuan cried as he got off the park bench. “If this spreads to the whole school, I’ll never forgive myself!” He walked over to Yaowen and picked him up. “Are you okay?”
Junlin met up with some of his other friends as he approached a building.
“What you got there Junlin? A diary?” Junlin’s friend, Ao Ziyi, asked him.
“Yeah lol,” Junlin answered. “We should totally read it during EDF class that’s starting in 3 minutes.” EDF was a course which all the members took together despite their different fields of study, so they were in the same class during this one.
The two of them walked inside the building.
“Oh no,” Yaowen groaned as he stopped.“Don’t worry, we’ll just sit next to him in class and try to get the diary while we’re there.” Yaxuan told him and patted his shoulder.
“Good idea.”
