Episode 9

“Yes come in!” Dr. Zhang answered once he heard a knock on his door from Yaxuan.

Yaxuan nervously walked in and accidentally dropped the papers he was carrying. “Oh no,” he said to himself and started picking them up. Once he was done, he sighed. “Sir there’s this…this math problem! I needed you to help me.”

“Hmm let me see it,” Dr. Zhang answered.

Yaxuan walked over to Dr. Zhang and handed him the papers.

Thinking that Yaxuan had lured Dr. Zhang away, Chengxin opened the window slowly and jumped in. He was shocked seeing that both Dr. Zhang and Yaxuan were still in the office.

“Oh no,” he said to himself.

“Did you just jump in my office? What do you want?” Dr. Zhang asked with shock.

“N – nothing.” Chengxin answered nervously.

“You are in huge trouble Ding Chengxin. I’m not letting this one slide. This is a security issue.” Dr. Zhang said as he picked up his ground phone receiver. “Yes Mr. Mi, I got a case for you in here. You won’t believe it, Ding Chengxin climbed in through my office window.”

Chengxin glared at Yaxuan, seeing that it was his fault this happened. He had forgotten to lure Dr. Zhang out of the office and made Chengxin make a fool out of himself.

Yaxuan started to feel guiltier and his eyes got wet. “Wait!” Yaxuan suddenly shouted and grabbed the receiver. “Dr. Zhang, it’s not like that, Chengxin knew I would be here…but we just wanted to come in at separate times…for a reason, we both trust you because…we got an issue to share.” he looked at Dr. Zhang with beady eyes. “if we came in together would have been suspicious.”

“So did you have to use my window?” Dr. Zhang face palmed. “Ok, ok. This was ridiculous. Now what do I do? Let me go talk to Mr. Mi before he comes here and thinks I'm playing with him.” Dr. Zhang got up from his seat and walked out.

Immediately, Chengxin started checking Dr. Zhang’s drawer for the diary. “Oh no! It’s not here!”

“Are you sure?” Yaxuan ask with a shaky voice and grabbed Dr. Zhang’s briefcase. “Maybe it’s in here. Let’s just take the whole thing and search.” Yaxuan put it down then opened the drawers on the other side of Dr. Zhang’s desk. “Oooh, a brand new wrist watch.”

“Seriously Yaxuan? We don’t have time to compliment wristwatches.” Chengxin rolled his eyes and grabbed a stick-it note and a pen, then started to write. ‘Dear Dr. Zhang, we have right now so we will come talk to you about the issue tomorrow. The issue was that Yaxuan has a crush on your nephew Zhenyuan.’ Chengxin put the note on the desk and chuckled. He grabbed the briefcase along with the wrist watch.

“Eww! That’s not fair!” Yaxuan complained as Chengxin opened the window.

Once Yaxuan looked down from the window, he started to feel dizzy and nervous. He didn’t even understand how Chengxin was able to climb up.

“Come on! Hurry up!” Chengxin encouraged him.

Yaxuan slowly got out of the window, but he quickly lost his footing and slid down and landed on his butt painfully. “Ouch!”

“I should have known,” Chengxin said to himself and climbed out skillfully with the briefcase. He landed on his feet and held out his hand to Yaxuan to pick him up. Yaxuan slowly took his hand and got up.

As the two of them walked away together, they didn’t notice that Jiaqi was sitting in his car next to the road and was watching Chengxin and Yaxuan. He didn’t know what was going on, so he felt jealous seeing them.

“Is he trying to…” Jiaqi smirked to himself. “He’s messing with the wrong boy. And to think I came here to see that idiot Chengxin.”

“Hey! Why do you have that watch with you!?” Yaxuan asked Chengxin angrily.

“Well I got it and I’m gonna give it to Jiaqi, I could never find a present expensive enough to give him. I bet Dr. Zhang won’t notice it’s gone since he’s so rich.” Chengxin admitted.

“No! You have to give them back! That’s not fair! You’re all kinds of crazy, you will return that when you return the briefcase, I hope the diary is in there!” Yaxuan checked the time on his wrist watch. “I have to go. I have a class.” he ran off.
