Third Person POV - at Blake's Gala

Fallon stood on the stage at La Mirage along with her family, the bright lights reflecting off of her eyes, almost making her go blind. Hands held together and arms crossed over her waist, she stood silently as her father spoke to the crowd.

Despite being a few feet away from Blake, her mind was somewhere else.

She wondered where Liam was and if he was doing okay. Even if he couldn't stand her, she still wanted him to be happy. She knew that she isn't the only one to be negatively effected by the oncoming divorce, and she also knew that no matter what, she would always care for him and would wish him the best.

Despite being a little frustrated with her soon-to-not-be husband for not believing her about Eva, she knew that she couldn't blame him. She would feel the same way if the roles were flipped.

Still a little sore from the cat-fight at her office, she slowly shifted her weight between each foot.

Still not paying attention to her surroundings, Fallon found it surprising that she was able to see Liam come in the doorway and make his way over to the stage.

He stepped up next to her and crossed his hands over his stomach.

"You're here."

Fallon slighty turned towards him, confused.

"You were right about Eva. She's unstable," he said.

A look of relief filled her face, glad that he finally understood what she had been trying to tell him.

"I'm just glad you finally saw it," she responded.

"To be clear, this doesn't mean that I forgive you. I'm here to support the family right now." He turned to look at Fallon. "We still have a lot of stuff to deal with."

"I know we do. But you want to try, right?"

"I showed up, didn't I?"

For the first time in weeks, Fallon smiled a real smile.

As Blake continued to make his speech, no one noticed when Eva came around the corner.

Fallon and Liam remained standing next to each other, and every now and then, they would slightly turn their heads and smile, feeling comfortable with the new peace they created together.

Still standing close to the wall, Eva grew more and more irritated with the friendly smiles shared between the two. She slowly reached her hand into her purse and pulled out a gun, gripping it by her side until she found the perfect time to carry out her plan.

Still lost in her own world, Fallon had yet to see her enemy standing across the way with a life-ending weapon.

"It is high time that Georgians have someone in their corner to fight for a better deal," Blake announced.

Liam looked towards Fallon, and she smiled, looking to the floor.

"Thank you for your support. Enjoy the rest of the evening."

Eva shifted a little, getting a better grip on the gun's handle. She prepared herself for what she was about to do.

"I understand that Duolingo is on her way."

The confetti canons shot colorful streamers into the air, and the small explosion sound delightfully surprised everyone.

Lifting her arm parallel to the floor, Eva adjusted her finger onto the trigger. She paused for a moment, keeping her eyes straight ahead, focused on her target.
