Third Person POV - Stranger's Car - November 12th

Forty minutes of driving passed by, Liam's patience only growing thinner as the clock ticked.

He anxiously switched his gaze away from the window and down to Fallon, nearly panicking as he saw that the amount of blood pooled at her stomach had doubled.

"Hey, are we almost there?" he asked, trying to hide his worries and be as polite as possible.

The woman looked at him through the rearview mirror.

"Actually, yes."

She turned the wheel and pulled into the Atlanta Hospital's parking lot.

Liam let out a deep sigh of relief.

Finally!

She pulled up to the front door and stopped the car.

"Alright, hurry and get her safe."

He smiled gratefully.

"Thank you for all of your help," he said. "I really appreciate it."

"Oh, don't mention it! Now go, go!"

She flapped her hand, motioning for him to hurry up and leave.

Quickly, Liam climbed out of the car and ran to the other side. He opened the door, and as carefully as he could, he picked up Fallon bridal style. Kicking the door closed with his foot, he rushed to the entrance of the hospital.

He slightly bounced with impatience as he waited for the automatic doors to open, and when they did, he swiftly walked inside.

"Somebody, help!" he called, causing the receptionist to lift her head.

The lady at the desk gasped and covered her mouth with her hand at the sight of the almost dead woman draped in newcomer's arms.

She stood up and grabbed the desk's phone, calling for a doctor.

As soon as the phone was dropped back down, doctors and nurses busted through the door, searching the lobby for the person in need.

Liam rushed closer to them, practically dropping Fallon onto the stretcher that one of the nurses had brought out.

"How did this happen?" a doctor asked, starting to walk away with the stretcher that was now being pushed through the double doors.

Liam quickly followed after, surprised that he was allowed to come.

"U-Uhm it w-was... a... t-there was-"

He couldn't form the words in his mouth. He didn't know what to say or how to say it, and jogging through the hospital's hallway behind his dying wife didn't help his mind think straight.

He didn't know what happened.

The doctor placed his hand on Liam's shoulder, furrowing his eyebrows as he analyzed his face. He turned his head and lifted an arm, motioning for one of the nurses to come over. He stopped walking, making Liam freeze, and the nurse rushed over.

"Hey, go check this man out and get him some water, he doesn't look too good," he ordered.

The nurse nodded, linking her arm with Liam and guiding him in the other direction, away from where Fallon was being wheeled.

"W-What? I need to go with her!"

He turned himself around, trying to pull away from the woman. She kept a firm hold of him, however, causing him to stumble back. He faced her again when Fallon was pushed through another set of doors, blocking her from view.

"Sir, you can't go back there, and I need to make sure that you're okay."

She directed him down another hall and into a small room.

"B-But I need to be with her!"

"I understand," she said, pushing his shoulders down so he would sit in a chair. "But I'm sorry, you can't. She's being taken into surgery. And, you are obviously not well."

Liam wiped some sweat off of his forehead, noticing that he felt faint. He ignored it.

"Me? What about my wife!? She's nearly dead and I can't see her!"

He stumbled over some of his words, starting to feel out of breath. He anxiously tapped his foot on the ground.

"Sir, just calm down. You're wife will be just fine."

She handed him a small, paper cup filled with water.

"Drink this, it'll help you feel better."

Liam let out a deep breath and drank it, the cool liquid feeling soothing as he swallowed. The small amount of water reminded him that he hadn't drunken anything since he was last at the manor.

His foot stopped tapping the ground, and he leaned back, resting his head against the wall, closing his eyes.

"That's it," the nurse said. "Just relax."

"Will she be okay?" he asked, not opening his eyes.

The woman stayed silent for a moment.

"I have to go check on other patients. If you feel alright, you can go to the waiting room until your wife's name is called."

With that, she exited the room, leaving Liam alone.

He swallowed.

She didn't answer my question.

He sat up straight again and stood up, pausing to make sure that he wouldn't faint. Positive that he was fine, he left the room and made his way to the waiting area.

Will she be okay?

The question rested in his mind, the avoidance of the nurse not reassuring him that he would ever see Fallon alive again.

He entered the waiting room and took a seat at one of the chairs. He sighed and buried his face in his hands.

I guess all I have to do now is wait.

Again.
