Third Person POV - Warehouse 1 Parking Lot - November 12th"Do you need help, sir?" the woman asked again when Liam didn't answer.
"Uh, yes, y-yes, please," he stuttered.
Liam stood and took a few steps towards the stranger, wiping the tears from his eyes. He swiftly looked back to Fallon before taking a couple more steps closer to the woman, pointing to his wife.
"We need to get to the hospital," he stated quickly. "Can you take us there?"
The newcomer looked past Liam, only just now noticing the severity of the situation. Her gaze rested on the nearly dead woman that laid on the concrete.
"Oh my god, yes of course! Hurry, hurry, get her in the car!"
Liam smiled gratefully before running back to Fallon. He bent down and carefully scooped her up, making sure that her head was supported and that he didn't accidentally touch her injury. As best as he could, he rushed over to the woman's car and climbed into the back seat.
He laid Fallon down on the seats, having her head rested in his lap. She was taller than the length of the two available seats, obviously, so her feet were planted on the floor and her knees pressed into the door. Her arm dangled off of the side of the middle seat, her other arm squished between her body and the back of the cushioned chair.
The woman hopped back into the driver's seat, quickly turning on the engine. She sped forward, making everyone shift backwards a little, and the car flew down the empty road.
Liam anxiously tapped his foot on the ground, quickly running out of patience. Fallon could fully pass away at any moment, and he definitely knew that he was not prepared for that.
He looked down to his wife, not knowing what else to look at, and he rested his gaze on her fogged, grey eyes. Tears welled up in his, but he blinked them away, not wanting to cry again. Especially not in front of a stranger. He slowly lifted his hand and placed two fingers under Fallon's jaw, feeling for another pulse. He sighed and removed his hand when he discovered that there was a soft thump every five seconds or so.
Her sightless eyes stared up at him, and if he were to be honest, it was starting to freak him out. He refrained from closing them, however, because he believed that it would make the situation feel too real. Having her eyes open gave him some closure; maybe, sometime soon, they would regain their sparkle. He was still able to see the eyes that he had fallen in love with years ago, and it calmed his nerves... Just a little, at least.
The woman looked at Liam through the rear-view mirror. She frowned with sympathy at the man's crumpled face.
"Everything okay back there?"
Liam shot his head up and sniffed.
"Uh, yeah, nothing has changed with her. How long 'til we get to the hospital?" he asked.
"Not for another forty-ish minutes, I'm afraid." She shook her head. "You two were, quite literally, in the middle of nowhere."
Nodding, he looked back down to Fallon.
"Wanna tell me what happened? Maybe distract yourself for a few minutes?"
Liam thought for a moment. He only just now realized that he didn't know what happened.
On the video call back at the warehouse, he had only seen Fallon get r*ped, and that was it. He didn't know what she went through from the time the call disconnected to her attacking Eva. Even then, he missed most of the fight.
He looked back up to the stranger.
"Actually," he said quietly, "I don't know. I... I wasn't there to see how this had happened."
The thought hit him like a brick. Fallon had gone through so much trauma and pain, and he, her husband, wasn't there to help her and be a supporting shoulder along the way. She had gone through all of this alone. He couldn't imagine how terrified she was.
A tear fell from his face and dripped onto Fallon's forehead. He wiped it off with his thumb.
At least now, she didn't know what was happening.
"What were you two doing out here all by yourselves? It's very far out from normal civilization," she stated.
Liam chuckled sadly.
"It's a long story."
The woman nodded, understanding that he didn't want to talk about it. She knew, however, that he should really talk about something so he can get his mind off of things.
"So where do you live? Any kids at home?"
"We live in Carrington Manor, actually. And no kids."
His short response refrained her from asking anything further. She just nodded and kept silent, letting Liam be alone with his thoughts once more.
Liam sighed and brushed a strand of hair out of Fallon's face before staring out of the window. His foot tapped on the ground once more, seeing that the only scenery were green and yellow fields of grass.
This was going to be a long ride, he realized, and he only hoped that Fallon would be able to last that long.
