"Avengers gather round!" Tony called out as we made our way down to the living room. One by each Avenger entered the room and took a seat on one of the couches.
Tony stood in front of us, as Clint took the last seat. I sat on the edge of a two-seater, with Natasha taking the right spot next to me. Opposite us were Steve and Thor on another two-seat couch, and on the adjacent three-seat couch were Clint and Bruce, leaving a spot in the center for Tony to sit on once he'd finished.
"It has slowly been coming to my attention that we aren't bonding as a team very much. Everyone is always in their rooms doing god-knows-what and nobody is making the effort to spend time getting to know each other. I'd like to be the first to change that," he preached.
I rolled my eyes. Of course Tony was taking credit for my idea. Natasha laughed beside me, as she knew what my conversation with Tony was about. Steve soon caught on as he put two and two together and realized this was coming minutes after my talk with Tony.
"And I thought the best way for us to spend some quality time getting to find out each other's bad habits was by watching a movie. Picked out by yours truly."
"How is staring at a series of videotapes for two hours getting to know each other?" Thor pointed out.
"I don't know. Wasn't my idea," Tony threw me under the bus.
"But you said 'yours truly'." Clint butted in.
"Hmm. Maybe next time you should think twice about taking credit for someone's idea," I scolded him playfully. "Now you see why second is always better than first?" I turned to the rest of the group. "The movie is a good start. At least we know we'll definitely be in the same room as each other for more than 20 seconds."
Tony took his seat in between Clint and Bruce and spoke up, "J, can you play Back To The Future."
"You want us to watch an eighties movie about time travel?" Natasha remarked, seeming unsatisfied with Tony's choice.
"Would you rather watch From Russia With Love, Tatiana?" Tony jeered back.
"Ha ha, a Russian spy joke, so original," I said sardonically as I rolled my eyes. "Why don't we all just vote."
"Well I don't care, because any movie you decide will be new to me," Steve raised his hands.
"Same as Cap," Bruce said, meaning the decision was now with either Tony, Natasha, Thor, Clint, or me.
"I say we watch the Hunger Games," Clint suggested.
"Why? Because the main character shoots arrows?" I chuckled.
"Exactly. Spoiler alert she wins in the end. A bow and arrow are handy," he said whilst glaring at Tony.
"Alright, calm down, Katniss. If we'd have just started Back to the Future we would be at least halfway through the movie and not arguing about which one we should watch." Tony complained.
"Thor, do you have any suggestions?" I spoke up since I was already bored of the constant back and forth.
"We don't watch movies on Asgard. We watch plays. Much better if ask me. It's a lot more realistic to have the actors standing in front of you," he explained.
"We don't have time to hire actors and act everything out," Tony snapped.
"I could act out Mean Girls," I joked. "I do know all of the words."
Steve squinted, "What's Mean Girls?"
"You never watched it?" I was disappointed. I helped him with the pocketbook and he hasn't even bothered to consider any of my suggestions.
