George's POV

I didn't want to do anything that day and ended up calling Clay when it was evening. My sibling was in the hospital and my parents were sleeping there. I was sent home since there couldn't be too many people in there. My oldest sister who was twenty was taking care of us.

I waited for Clay to pick up but it took a while. He finally accepted the call after seconds and mumbled something.

'Clay?' I muttered. 'Is there a chance I can come over?'

'W-what?' he mumbled.

'Are you okay?'

⚠️ Throwing up

'Hold on,' he whispered. He seemed to walk away and I suddenly heard him throw up a few minutes later. He came back again and sighed softly.

⚠️ Over

'Never mind,' I muttered. 'I wanted to ask if I can come over, but you seem sick.'

'No- what's wrong? You could come over, I just have a really bad headache and I'm nauseous. Think I ate something bad. What's up?'

'I need distraction. Robin attempted suicide and I don't know if they will survive.'

'Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. Of course you can come over, I just woke up that's why I'm a bit sleepy. Do you want me to come to you?'

'You seem sick.'

'No, it's fine. I can go to you, but it will take a bit since I feel like shit.'

'I'm sorry for bothering,' I muttered. 'I'll just watch videos.'

'No, I don't mean it like that. I'm on my way. Wait, hold on.'

⚠️ Throwing up

He seemed to walk away again and I heard him throw up again.

⚠️ Over

'I'm sorry,' he muttered when he came back.

'I'm going to you,' I said. 'I don't mind where I am, I just want to be with you.'

'Okay,' Clay mumbled.

I hung up and slowly stood up as I walked to my sister.

'I'm going to Clay for distraction,' I muttered.

She nodded and gave me a tight hug. 'Have fun, are you staying there at night?'

'I'll let you know,' I said with a small smile.

She let go of me and I walked outside to grab my bike. Clay didn't live very far away from me luckily so I didn't have to cycle for too long.

I arrived at his place around ten minutes later and rang the bell. It took a while for him to open, but I got startled when I saw him. He was really pale, his eyes were red and he leaned forwards.

'Oh my gosh, are you okay?'

He nodded slowly. 'Really bad stomachache, nauseous and a very bad headache. I'm just not feeling too great, but I'm doing okay in general. Come in.'

He sniffed with his nose and coughed shortly. I noticed his hands were shaking and his voice was a bit hoarse.

⚠️ Throwing up

'I'm so sorry,' he muttered as he suddenly ran to the bathroom close by. It didn't take long before he threw up again and I walked to the bathroom to see him sit down on his knees as he breathed quickly.

⚠️ Over

'Come here,' I said as I lifted him up. I flushed the toilet after wiping his mouth with toilet paper and gave him some water to drink.

We walked upstairs and he laid down in his bed, looking at me. 'Don't worry about me. I want to know how you are.'

I sighed softly. 'I have been better. They are still in the hospital, the latest news I got is that they are in a coma and their stomach got pumped.'

'I'm so sorry,' Clay whispered with a voice crack.

I nodded slowly and looked around me. 'It smells weird in here.'

Clay coughed shortly and shrugged. 'I'm not sure what you mean.'

'I don't know, I smell something.'

Clay frowned and curled himself up. 'I don't know, I don't smell anything. My nose is runny, let me get a napkin.'

I nodded slowly and he walked off, coming back with slow footsteps. He blew his nose and laid back down.

'Are you getting a cold? Or a stomach bug?'

'Stomach bug, I think. I'm fine though, I want to help you.'

I laid down on his bed too and stared at the ceiling.

'I'm going to sound like a stupid spoiled kid, but I've never had any problems in my life. This is so hard to deal with so suddenly. I don't get why they did it. They got bullied a lot, but you can just not listen to them, right?'

'That's not as easy,' Clay replied. 'Some people take things people tell them really seriously, even though it's just stupid.'

'They bullied them for being non binary,' I mumbled. I sighed deeply and rolled closer to Clay. He looked at me and had his cheeks flush red as he wrapped his arms around me to cuddle. It made me smile and I sighed softly.

I rested my head on Clay's chest and smiled at him as he was hesitating what to do. I knew he loved cuddling. He didn't do anything for a bit, but then wrapped his arms around my shoulders to pull me closer.

We both didn't say anything next to enjoying each other's presence. I could feel Clay's heartbeat. It was fast, almost too fast. It sometimes skipped a beat and went really slowly.

'Clay, are you okay?' I whispered as I looked up at him.

'Why?' he said with a red face. He seemed nervous.

'Your heart is beating really irregularly.'

Clay shrugged. 'I'm as okay as I can be right now.'

I nodded slowly and laid back down on his chest. He was breathing calmly but a second later I noticed his breathing rhythm fasten and he started sweating a bit. I looked down at him and Clay started coughing loudly.

⚠️ Throwing up

I frowned since it worried me, but Clay coughed again. This time louder. He seemed breathless and suddenly sat up, pushing me to the side. He stood up and ran to the bathroom. I heard him throw up a second later which left me really worried. He wasn't okay in the slightest and it felt like he was lying to me.
