the chemistry read.

athena didn't think she would be this nervous. she had just found out that if she got this role she would have to pretend to be in love with drew starkey.

but currently he was the only thing she could think of. she had to act in front of him, and with him.

she could feel drew looking at her, which just made her more nervous.

jonas had handed her and drew the scene they would be acting out and told them to read over it.

the scene consisted of layla and rafe fighting, as she continued reading the scene she realized drew had to say some pretty nasty words to her.

athena and drew had just finished the chemistry read, she thought it went really well but it all depended on jonas. he had to make a choice that could possibly change her life forever.

jonas had left the room to go speak with other members of the crew. athena looked up, surprised to be making eye contact with drew she looked down quickly.

"you did really good you know?" drew said with a wide smile.

"thank you, if i get this role it will be my first big role." she said as she made eye contact with the boy again.

she had never realized how pretty he was, the way his hair fell onto his face, the way he smiled, everything. he was truly the most attractive person she had met face to face.

just to think last week she was moping around being upset about who knows what, and now she was standing in front of, and having a conversation with drew starkey.

the way that one email had changed her life in just a day. she was pulled from her trance as jonas had stepped back into the room.

looking at the older man with hopeful eyes. he then pulled a stack of paper from behind his back.

" if you are willing to accept this role you will be our new layla azure" jonas said with a genuine smile.

athena looked at him in shock and looked over to drew then back to jonas.

"of course I will, this is insane" but before she could even say anything else she felt a body embrace her in a hug.

looking at the person she had realized drew was hugging her.

"I cant wait to have you as my on screen lover, athena."

the way he said her name had her stomach doing flips. the two detached from the hug as the girl had started to sign the contract to accept the role.

even though she was so happy and thankful they chose her, the thoughts in the back of her head telling her she didn't deserve this and they could find someone way better were still there.

drew's perspective (third person)

for some reason drew could tell that athena was doubting herself. he felt like he had known her for so long. it didn't take him long to blurt out, "you are going to be the perfect layla i promise you."

"thank you drew." she said in almost a whisper.

the way she said the boys name made him feel some type of way.

"oh and athena before you go, i was wondering if i could have your number so i could add you to the group chat and we could plan a hangout so you can meet the rest of the cast."

" that would be great." athena said as she wrote her number down on a small piece of paper.

all drew could think about was her, even when he had arrived home later that night she was still roaming in his mind.
