Emily's POV
"Flight 2654 is now boarding to Seul, Korea." The speaker said, making me stand up with my backpacks. My mom looked at me weird.
"Honey that's not your flight." She said, well this is it.
"It is mom. I'm going to look for my brother." When I said that she was shocked, for the first time, I saw her worry for me.
"Wait, no, that's not possible. You bought tickets to Canada." She said as she stood up. She was actually freaking out.
"Mom, you never want to talk about my brother or my dad, but I want to know them. You are never home anymore and I just want some company, someone to actually love me." I told her, as I made my way to the gate.
"Emily, you can't go." She told me as she had her hand on my wrists, making me look at her in disbelief.
"Oh no, you can't do this now mom." I told her, "You've never worried about me, you've never cared. Not even in my graduation. I'm going to look for someone that does."
"Emily don't-"
"Bye mom." I said, as I hugged her quickly, before she could react and pull me back. I can't believe she's acting like this. She actually looks scared.
"EMILY DON'T!" I heard her yell and everyone looked back at her and I just looked down. "YOU DON'T WANT TO DO THIS!"
I've never seen her like this before, making me have a bad feeling.
But I'm doing this, there's no way I'm going to stop now.
The last thing I saw was my mom actually breaking down and crying.
I feel bad but I just need to do this for myself.
For once.
*Hours later*
I can't believe I'm right now in Seul, Korea. I've always imagined how it would be like because of the photos I've seen in google, but it's nothing like that.
It's huge and coming from such a small town to this, it's really amazing.
When I got out of the airport, I couldn't stop looking around. The huge buildings, people going everywhere, cars honking and whatnot. But the view was just amazing.
"Hey lady, do you need a cab?" A guy asked me. He kind of scared me a bit, but with his Korean accent I knew he was just probably a worker.
"Yeah, actually, thank you." I said and he nodded as he took my backpack to put it in the car.
I opened the car door and it was actually a normal taxi. Or at least that's how it looked.
The guy was taking a bit to upload the backpacks and I saw him talking to another guy who was actually looking straight at me. Making me feel weird.
They exchanged a few words and then the taxi guy nodded and came to the car.
"So, where are you headed miss?"
"Oh I'm going to..." I told him the direction and he nodded, while looking back at the other guy. Something isn't right here.
But I have no service or internet, so I can't contact my mom.
I'll just have to wait to get to the destination.
However, it took longer than expected and I couldn't even see the huge buildings anymore, and I'm sure the hotel that I booked, was downtown.
This doesn't look like downtown.
"Um, sorry sir, I think you are going the wrong way." I said to the guy, and he looked at me through the review mirror, without saying a word.
