Promises are meant to be broken

I was still staring at the ceiling of my room after what Trey told me

(flashback )

"because I don't like letting people in my life."

He smiles " don't I know? "

"you already knew?" I ask him surprised

"Yes, the no friend thing gave it away. "

"Then why won't you give up?"

"because I made a promise that I'll help you heal from the scars your past gave you"

"promises are meant to be broken Trey, you and I both know that" I told him

"Well I won't break mine, no matter what happens" he told me

(end of flashback )

"what do they see in a person like me?" I ask myself as I rolled over in my bed

"I do not have a body like Tracy, so it's not about anything sexual and my face is nothing but ordinary. I'm not hot, I'm plain" I groaned frustrated "What do they see in me?"

I heard my cellphone beep and I checked out who sent me a message

From:Lily
Hey Xiara you alive? I did not hear anything about you this past week.. would you like to hang out at the mall this afternoon?

I smile. Guess I won't be staying in the house this afternoon.

I dressed up in a light blue crop top and my white high waist shorts and a dark blue flats with a buckle on the sides.

I climb up in my hummer, and drove off to the mall.

When I saw Trey jogging.

I stopped the car.

"Trey!" I yelled

He looks at my direction

"What's up?" he greets

"Are you heading back home?" I ask

"Yup, where are you going?" he asks me suspiciously

"mall"

"cool, I'll see you there." was the his last words before he sped off towards the house's direction

I shrugged and continued to drive to the mall.

"Hey Lily"I greet her when I saw her at the coffee shop we agreed to meet each other

"Xiara! Thank Goodness your alive!"

I rolled my eyes at her exaggeration

"Oh don't you roll your eyes at me, Xiara Nights. How was I suppose to know if your alive when you haven't text me or call me, I've been worried sick about you!" she rants on.

"Yeah right mom. "

"Okay before I completely destroy this day let's just go " she suggested

2 and a half hours later, we've already been half of the store and we still haven't found Lily's idea of a perfect dress for her blind date.

"Ugh please Lily let me just sit for a minute, my feet hurts!" I grumble to Lily

"Uh Uh Uh ..... there are no room for rest when were searching for my perfect dress. " she told me

I groaned "Let me be woman! My feet freaking hurts!"

"Well I guess it'll have to wait, won't it?" she says sternly

" Well I guess it'll have to wait, won't it?" I mock her but this time in a squeaky voice

She glared at me

Oh I think she heard that

I was dragging my feet with me when a dress attracted me. It was a aqua blue strapless dress which have a thick sash around it's waist and it flowed down until it reaches mid thigh.

I take out my wallet and found out my money was not enough to pay for the dress

"Oooh that's a pretty dress!" Lily gushes

"Yeah it sure is" I told her in a hesitating tone,

"I think I'll buy it " she declares

I sigh as she gets the same dress on the rack

When we were about to pay for the dress, I saw Lily holding two dresses, one is the one I like and the other is a red heart neckline which have a thick sash like the one I like but this one sorts of puff downward

When we arrived at the car, I kept quiet, I really like that dress. And I'm mourning because I won't get to wear it because she already bought the last one.

"Hey, you ok?" Lily asks

"Yeah, I'm just tired from the shopping I guess." I lied

After the car ride, Lily thanks me and right when I'm about to head inside. Lily hands me something

"just something to show my gratitude to you for helping me shop for the perfect dress"

"Thanks, that sweet of you" I told her

I went inside and say Trey at the phone talking to someone

"I'm home! " I yell

"Oh Just wait a second" Trey tells the person on the other line "Hi Xiara "

I head up my room and open the paper bag Lily gave me

"Oh my god!" I screamed when I see it's content

It's the same dress. I like earlier!
