"hyung, you and jaehyun hyung are going to make me go crazy," donghyuck whispered to the older. "are you guys going to keep acting like this?"

"you already know what i want haechan," taeyong whispered back. "and also cause maybe i need the space to think. anyways, enough about me, how is it with mark?"

"what about him?" the resident blushed.

"i don't know, how about the fact you two are getting very close these days? where were you during your free time this week?"

"i was spending time outside in the field," donghyuck answered.

"with mark," doyoung cuts in. "anyways, i came to let you guys know the car arrived to take us to the site so c'mon."

taeyong follows his friend and his heart stops thumping when he sees jaehyun. the man was laughing at something mark said and he looks up to make eye contact with taeyong.

they hold the stare before taeyong breaks it when the visitor starts speaking.

"hello, i am mr. jun park, the leader of the construction crew for the site," the man bows before continuing. "anyways, i am here to pick up the people who will be visiting, and i have passes for 8 people so who are the 8?"

"us 4," taeyong points to his group.

"and us 4 as well," jaehyun does the same.

"excellent, now if you can just take these and keep them around your neck for the duration of your stay, that will clear any security clearances," mr. park passes the lanyards out. "so, shall we get going?"

"and before coming here, this whole section was a side of the cliff over there so we had to use explosives to break apart the big rocks and also wait a couple of months for the rocks to settle."

the group was following their guide into the property and stared at all that was going on.

"how long did you have to wait in total before actually starting construction?" johnny asked?

"13 years," mr. park smiled. "and i got to watch what was happening for every step of the way."

"that sounds remarkable," doyoung nodded in respect.

"it's even more rewarding when seeing the beautiful scenery," the middle aged man motions to the landscape. "this is what motivates us to work harder."

"what is the building going to be used for?" taeyong asks.

"well, your hospital wanted to use it to provide a clinic to the people here. the government will be paying for the treatments happening here along with timely donations by the chairman," mr. park explained. "oh, and there is the manager. manager lim!"

the called man hung up from his phone call and looked to where he saw his coworker waving. sighing, he walks over with a straight face.

"what is it jun?" mr. lim asks in a monotonous voice.

"the visitors from the army base are here, so don't you want to introduce yourself," mr. park asked, not minding his friend's less excited nature.

"of course," he rolled his eyes but still complied. "my name is lim hyunsoo, manager of the construction site here."

"nice to meet you manager lim," taeyong tried to break the thick atmosphere since the manager arrived. "i must say that all the work here is going well thanks to your guidance."

"of course," manager lim put on an arrogant face. "when you've been doing this for a long time, it all comes naturally to you."

taeyong wanted to roll his eyes at the other's arrogance. jaehyun, on the other hand, saw how the nature of the manager changed when seeing the doctor and it triggered the jealousy in him.

"anyways, it's lunch time right now and we had some food delivered here for our guests," the manager kept talking. "if you enter that green portable, it should be set up on the table."

bowing, they all follow their original guide into the portable and are immediately hit with an amazing smell of spices with various other ingredients.

after their lunch was done, they all had to head back to the base.

"thank you so much for inviting us here mr. park, it truly was an honorable experience," taeyong shook hands with the older man.

"no need to thank us, we're just happy that you all seemed to enjoy it!"

"and please feel free to call the base if you need any help," jaehyun says as he approaches. "it's the least we could do to help the labor seem more bearable."

"thank you, we will make sure to keep that in mind! oh my, look at the time!" mr. park looks at his watch. "it's going to take some time to get back."

"don't worry, we'll be safe," doyoung reassures the worrying man. "now, please, you should go inside and get some rest."

"i will after seeing you leave. now go, the others are waiting inside the car."

jaehyun heads into the driver's seat and once he saw that everyone was ready to go, started the engine.

"it's impressive how they used explosives to carve out the space," donghyuck shared to everyone. "it does open the whole perspective on how all explosives aren't bad."

mark's heart fluttered at the words, proud that the younger was a step closer to getting over his trauma.

"that's good," johnny encouraged the resident. "but imagine how nice it would be to work there and be greeted with the scenery everyday."

"isn't that what happens to us everyday though?" yuta reminded his groupmate. "we wake up and run around with the sunrise."

and the whole time he was saying this, he was staring at a blushing sicheng, who knew exactly what he was saying.

"but it's amazing how the government is providing the money and treatment for the citizens here," taeyong said. "they're collaborating with an ally to make this historical connection between the two, it's big news."

"i agree," doyoung nodded along. "this is also something that has never been done before so being able to see the process was a big honor."

the car was now in an open dirt road, with no other buildings or signs of humans around them. looking out, taeyong's hair blew in the breeze as he leaned towards the passenger window.

the whole situation was deja vu to jaehyun from the first day. him driving, taeyong next to him, the wind blowing and his hair flowing with the sun lighting his face.

but of course, all good moments are ruined.

"why is the car shaking?" sicheng asked worriedly as he can feel the whole vehicle move.

jaehyun looks out and sees rocks rolling down from cliffs and his eyes widen.

"earthquake!"
