(mention of sensitive topic but also because the nature of this plot will continue to have the recurring themes, i want to give this as a big warning in advance to the rest of the chapters.)
through the darkness, footsteps can be heard as the person approaches the car on the side of the road.
"about time you showed up," the man put out his cigarette and stomped on it, killing the fire with his heel.
"i'm sorry, the site has been a mess with what happened with the earthquake," the newcomer brings out the sack from his pocket. "but i brought what you needed."
throwing it to the man, he gives it to the person next to him, who unties the string and counts out the contents.
"it's all there," the man gives it back to his boss.
"mr. davidson, i'm sure you heard about the whole site being destroyed and so is my living quarters. the diamonds are still in the safe, but i can't go to them," manager lim said while trembling.
"and what do you want me to do about it?" arnold held one of the diamonds up to his flashlight and examined it.
"just give me a 3 days extension for the next delivery," the manager went on his knees.
"oh mr. lim," arnold took out a small knife and held it in front of the korean, who just let out a cry of fear and stared at the floor. "i think you forgot what position you're in. i'm the one who makes the rules here, not you. so what gave you the confidence to take the reins all of a sudden?"
"i'm sorry, i'm sorry," the other bowed continuously.
"but i'm not that heartless am i," the american smirks and draws back his weapon. "you have an extension of 1 day, if not, then you know what happens to you."
"of course, whatever you need."
arnold then puts his sunglasses back on and gets in the car, leaving the manager still on the ground, shaking from the encounter.

the whole space was heavy with suspense as they all tried to decide what to do for the next step.
"well, we have enough evidence now, and it also explains why arnold was here in the first place," general park fiddled with the pen on the table.
"we just have to commence with capturing," yuta said.
"it's gonna be hard, we already know how broad his connections are here," johnny stated.
"and it's also going to involve more than just capturing," mark finished.
everyone looks towards jaehyun, the captain who was quiet the whole time. seeing how all the attention was brought on to him, he sits up straighter and sighs.
"it's not as simple as it sounds. one, like johnny said, his connections are all over the place and we saw how even the police are even involved in this. and on top of that, we already know how weak chasa's own military is so we can take them out of the picture and this is too big of a job for us," jaehyun summarized the situation.
"we also have to take into consideration that we promised saalima a safe place to stay and be protected," yuta reminded them. "we need to have two teams, one to handle the victims and the other to actually be in the field."
