"bring taeyong into the icu, quickly," doyoung orders once the helicopter lands. donghyuck and sicheng bring the stretcher as taeil and johnny come out, holding taeyong in their arms. and the sight of his best friend makes doyoung gasp sharply.

his usually bright face was deadly pale with bruises and small cuts all over. his hands had minor rope burns from being bound so tightly while his arms just hung limply. doyoung could tell he had lost weight, from not being fed anything during the 3 days.

"he collapsed during the rescue, but he has no fatal wounds, pulse is unstable and weak but still there," taeil stated as they rush to the medicube.

"anyone else to treat," sicheng asks the group.

"jaehyun was treated in the van and so he's fine. but yuta and mark both have to be treated. yuta took a hit to the head so he needs a check for a concussion while mark has glass stuck on his arm," taeil answers.

"well then we can handle them," donghyuck yells to the army doctor as he runs off.

once taeyong is laid in a bed with an iv connected and oxygen mask, all doyoung can do is just stare. how hard it must have been for his friend to be left alone...wait.

"taeil!!"

the male turns to see a frazzled looking doyoung run to him.

"yes," he answers while wondering what's got the other so riled up.

"what about saalima, what happened to her?"

taeil smiles at the question and answer with a soft tone.

"she went home... with rashif."

"her husband?!"

"yes, we found him and just when he was about to be killed, he surrendered and repented pretty much. he regretted everything he did and so we let him go but we still watched him. after everything, we found saalima and we knew that the both of them would be better off by themselves. so they went back to their village."

"just like that?"

"what do you mean," taeil was confused at how the other was acting.

"he did so much and she had the right to hate him and leave him, but she decided to stay with him?"

"i think it's cause she knew that it wasn't the true him," the army doctor smiles at how overjoyed the couple was to be reunited. "even if he did all those things, in the end, he had a reason to and no matter the reason, it was his choice. even if she didn't like what he did, as long as he knows what he did wrong and doesn't do it again, i think that's all saalima needed."

doyoung didn't realize it but the way taeil said those things was enough to make him cry with emotion, something that no one ever saw. realizing it, the shorter panics at it.

"oh my god, why are you crying, did i say something wrong?"

"no, no, i'm just being a baby," doyoung takes some tissues and wipes his eyes. "but you're right, saalima trusted rashif and in the end, that's all they needed."

the whole time he was talking, taeil started blushing at how intense doyoung's stare was towards him.

"w-what," taeil stutters, still taken aback at the sudden change in behavior. jeez, one second he's crying and then the next, he's drilling holes into his head with a sharp stare.
