besides the blood drawing, taeyong's whole day was free. he decided to spend it by walking around the area, just to observe and take in all his surroundings. after stopping by his quarters to change out of his scrubs (he's still not over the unusual design), he then headed out to the same field he had gone his first day here.

but unlike the first day, the whole space was empty. walking through the tall grass, his hands reached out to touch the passing flower buds, occasionally getting caught in some prickly reeds. his black hair flowed in the wind, covering his eyes.

never had taeyong been in such a peaceful place. it was quiet, the only sound coming from the wind and insects. being a professor always gave taeyong no time to enjoy himself. but now, since coming here, he had time to take a breathe and actually enjoy his time.

"but i still won't forgive him for forcing me to come here," he thought in his head.

turning his head, he caught sight of a familiar oak tree, with its branches hanging down low. he walks towards the large plant, feeling the instant coolness from its shade. sitting on the ground, he didn't care if his pants would get dirty. the fresh air was all he needed at the moment. just when he's about to close his eyes, it catches sight of an abnormal shape.

getting up, taeyong rushes to where the shape was and as he got closer, he could make out a small figure. his eyes widening, he runs to the child.

"hello, child," taeyong spoke in arabic and gently patted the boy's head. trying to have him gain consciousness. when that didn't work, he felt around teh base of his neck, trying to sense the pulse. he found it, but very weak and unsteady.

"oh dear," the doctor takes the walkie-talkie given to him and radios the medicube. "medicube, this is dr. lee."

it takes a couple seconds but then donghyuck's voice comes through.

"medicube, what's the emergency?"

"donghyuck, set up a bed ready and have the team ready. i found an unconscious boy, looks to be about 7 or 8, and his pulse is weak. i should be there in about 5 minutes."

"copy that," and the line disbands.

taeyong takes the boy's arms and puts them over his shoulders, carrying the child on his back. now, he may not be the strongest physique-wise, but carrying multiple boxes of files over the years surely helped. and he ran the distance, all the way to the medicube.

"hyungs, emergency!!"

donghyuck's shout echoed throughout the whole small building and immediately, the 2 other males go to where donghyuck is setting up a new bed.

"what's wrong," doyoung rushes to help the resident put the new sheets, and sicheng follows with the box of equipment.

"taeyong hyung found an unconscious boy, about 7-8 years old he thinks, in the field and he's bringing him right now," donghyuck checked the window and pointed to where he saw his mentor run. "right there!"

doyoung and sicheng both run out with a stretcher and donghyuck watches how the three set the limp boy onto the bed. he opens the door and as the two set down the patient, taeyong picks up his stethoscope.

"sicheng, start with getting his weight and height while i get the station cleared up," and the nurse nods, doing what he was told. taking the measurements, he writes them down on a piece of paper and by the time he's done, taeyong is ready.
