"dr. lee! an airplane exploded during a checkup at the busan location and they're sending their worst cases here," a nurse shouts at taeyong's direction and the doctor emerges in his uniform, now wearing a combat uniform instead of the scrubs.

"have all our stations set up, i want at least 2 of you at each station and triple up if there isn't enough places. send all the immediate cases to me in the operation room and the others to donghyuck," the doctor puts on his operation dressing but flinches when hearing the alarm go off. "everyone, now!"

the doors open and on the stretcher is donghyuck compressing gauze on a bleeding wound while another nurse pumps oxygen for the patient.

"dr. lee, where do we take him," the nurse asks.

"take him into the 2nd operation room, i'll be there once i put on my scrubs. keep putting pressure," donghyuck jumps off the stretcher and immediately runs to the other direction, towards his office

taeyong can't help but smile at how much the younger grew. the resident who was once so scared and shocked by these situations is now this courageous doctor who never hesitated to help whoever he ran into.

"dr. lee, patient already in the 1st operation room!"

the loud voice wakes him from his small daze and nods at the nurse.

"then let's save that patient!"

"i thought residency was bad enough, i feel so tired right now," donghyuck groans as he lays on the couch. currently, it was 2am and the two doctors volunteered to stay overnight, just in case of any emergencies.

"but you did amazing today. as a first year doctor, you did so well," taeyong pats the head of the younger. "but i might have to tell jaehyun we can't do our daily walk today."

and at that moment, a phone rings.

"or you guys can just call right now. have fun, i'm gonna call mark now!"

donghyuck gets up and skips out the door, pulling his phone out.

"markie," was the last thing taeyong heard before the door closed. smiling, he just shakes his head before paying attention to the phone in his hand.

"are you ok?! i heard some of the people from here came to you guys!"

"i'm fine jae, don't worry," the doctor almost laughs at how panicked his boyfriend looks. "although i won't be able to walk outside today."

"i thought that so i have my coffee ready," the captain raises a hot mug into the camera and the doctor giggles.

the next 2 hours are filled with laughter and jokes from both males until the sun rises, signaling taeyong's shift ending.

"wait tae, before you go, i have big news!"

"what is it?"

"jungwoo and lucas are getting married next month and invited all of us to their wedding. it's at the base in china and we can get there by helicopter."

"send me the details but i think it would be a wonderful time for all of us to have a reunion."

"will you ever put that down," jaehyun reaches over to yuta, who just slaps his friend's hand away from the bouquet he was holding.

"jungwoo spent all his power into doing this, i have to keep his efforts ongoing," the japanese answers in a monotone voice, making sicheng pinch his nose bridge in embarrassment.

"congrats you two," taeil stands to give the two newly wedded husbands a hug as they approach their table.

"thank you all for being able to make it to our wedding," jungwoo tells the whole group.

"we wouldn't miss it for the world," taeyong returns the hug. "you guys are the first ones to get married from the group, how does it feel?"

"it's your guys' turn soon," lucas jokes around. "we can't stay too long but we will definitely be looking forward to catching up with you guys later."

the group waves to the couple and turn back to their own table.

"can you believe it's already been a year and a half since chasa," donghyuck shares, shaking his head in disbelief.

"it's also been a year and a half since all of us got together like then," taeil shares. "i see your guy's face everyday but it's so different having all of us together like this."

"and it's also been a year since johnny was deported to thailand," yuta shares.

"i still call him everyday and he and ten are still going strong so we have nothing to worry," mark finishes with a nod.

"and they lived happily ever after, the end," donghyuck says out loud, sipping from his wine glass but then a sudden ringtone surprises him and he chokes on his drink.

"hey johnny," jaehyun picks his phone but after a couple of seconds, he nods curtly and turns back to the table. jungwoo and lucas also run back as well, waiting for what jaehyun has to say.

"there was a flood in thailand and johnny called, saying they need backup as well as medical help," the captain throws the napkin that was on his lap on the table. "and just when i was getting settled down."

"well, this is the reality we have to deal with," doyoung does the same and everyone gets up.

"i thought we could get lucky at least once," taeil undoes his tie.

"can i resign from my job entirely," sicheng finishes his bite of sushi.

"and they said getting transferred to korea would be easier," mark sighs while standing up.

"right in the middle of our wedding reception too," lucas complains but still takes his blazer off.

"there's a helicopter coming on the hotel's helipad so we have to head to the roof," jungwoo leads the group while untying his tie, just letting it fall on the ground.

"this seems familiar somehow," taeyong mumbles before following the others up to the roof.

because after all, their work is never done.
