for the past hours, taeyong and saalima were stuck on their chairs, bound by the tight ropes and with duct tape over their mouths. the room they were stuck in was starting to get cold as the sun started setting, and it didn't help that the both of them were dressed in short sleeve clothes.

the wind flew into through the open windows and the black curtains fluttered. just when the silence was settling in, the loud noise of the door opening ruined the moment.

"ahhh, have you two been doing well?"

arnold enters in and smirks when seeing his prisoners.

"well, i would hope, i gave you guys the best view of the sky."

after circling around the two, he goes to saalima and strokes her hair.

"don't worry, rashif is waiting to see his lovely wife."

when not getting any response, the man lets out a dark laugh and changes targets. taeyong feels himself shrinking when seeing how the man stared at him with the vicious eyes and evil smirk.

"and you doctor, how're you holding up?"

taking hold of the korean's face, he forces the face up and to make eye contact with him.

"you know, since i have a bit of favoritism towards you, i'm going to give you a special treatment."

taking his other hand, it inches closer until taeyong feels the pain from the tape being ripped off with a clean swipe. hissing at the pain, his head also jerks to the side but it's soon moved back to place with the same rough hand.

"doesn't that feel better? now i can have the full look."

staying quiet, the doctor just gives an empty stare. but he wouldn't keep the face for long.

"you know, jaehyun? little jeffery? practically watched him grow up in this field, when he first entered west point to his first mission as a team member, guess who got to watch him?"

taeyong knew it was a rhetorical question, so he kept his mouth shut.

"me, i got to watch him as a mentor and a senior. watch him work on target practice, running laps, work out. heck, i even got to be one of the supervisors for his crucible."

still, no reaction but the biggest bomb was yet to come.

"but then he leaves for korea and 3 years later, he's in a mission with me. not to mention as a member of the special forces team. and you have to know, that this group deals with the worst situations. explosions, crossfires, terrorist attacks, it's all included with the job. but you know what the worst thing is?"

arnold leans in so he can whisper into taeyong's ear, the doctor squirming as he can't do anything about it.

"he's keeping so many secrets, you know? everything about this job is a secret, and nothing can be told. not to mention he's putting his life on the line. what happens if he dies and when you hear about it, it's all just a lie being told?"

seeing the stiffened figure, the american pulls back with the same evil look.

"but who knows, i'm just spewing nonsense right? you can't predict everything that's gonna happen."

laughing, he just leaves and leaves behind a confused taeyong.
