The Unexpected Romance

Chapter Sixteen - Floor Boss (2nd floor)

"Doc, kamusta na po ang asawa ko?" Tanong ng mama ni Athena. Her father was rushed to the hospital earlier because he was caught in an accident by saving a child.

Her father was on his way back home after an early jogging when he saw the child crossing the road habang may isang rumaragasang sasakyan. Her father saved the child in time, pero nagpagulong gulong ito sa daan habang pinoprotektahan ang bata kaya nagtamo ang papa niya ng maraming sugat at galos. Her mother who was in panic nang makitang maraming sugat ang papa niya ay agad na dinala ang asawa sa ospital.

"So far, there's no internal fracture misis. Maayos din ang naging result ng CT scan. Lilinisin lamang natin ng maayos ang mga sugat niya at pwede na po siyang madischarge" wika ng doctor.

Nakahinga naman ng maluwag ang mama niya at nagpasalamat bago lumabas ang doctor.

"Sabi ko naman sayo galos at sugat lang to" narinig ni Athena na wika ng papa niya.

Her mother glared at his father. "Tumigil ka. Alam mo ba kung gaano ako natakot kanina nang makita kang puno ng sugat?"

"Huwag ka ng magalit. Nakakahiya kay Athena oh." Wika ng papa niya at niyakap ang bewang ng mama niya.

Athena cleared her throat. She knew how sweet her parents were. Pero minsan hindi pa din siya sanay.

"Pupuntahan ko lang po si kuya para masettle na yung bill." Athena said and her parents nodded at her.

Nang makalabas sa kwarto ay tinahak ni Athena ang kahabaan ng hallway. Athena really doesn't want to go to the hospital because she hates the smell. Hangga't maaari ay ayaw na ayaw niya magstay dito.

Athena decided to take the stairs. She's getting weird imaginations by taking the elevators in the hospitals. But she didn't expect to hear something she shouldn't have.

"Don't ever look for me just for nonsense things! If they can't pay for the operation, they need to get out of this hospital. This is our business, not a charity."

Napasilip si Athena and she was shocked to see Mason, Zeroth band's bassist. He's talking to a middle aged man, probably a doctor since he is wearing a white lab coat.

"Chloe needs to be treated immediately!"

"You said you despised doctors and insisted not to be one. Now you are asking for help from me? If you only listened to me and pursued medicine, maybe there's still a way for you to help that friend of yours." The man turned around and walked down the stairs. Agad na kumubli si Athena sa pader.

Athena looked at the doctor Mason was talking to. She knew him. He's one of the best surgeons in the Philippines. Athena was even more dumbfounded when she realized that this man is the owner of this hospital. She knew because she usually sees him on TV.

Is Mason acquainted with him? Are they relatives?

"You are really heartless," Mason said, which made the man stop in his tracks.

"Maybe I really am" the man said and all Athena could hear was the sound of his footsteps going away.

What did she witness? Athena felt guilty after hearing that conversation.

"Did you hear everything?" Athena's heart jumped in horror when she heard a voice. She looked at her side and saw Mason staring at her seriously. This is the first time he heard Mason's voice.

"I...I'm sorry" Ang tanging nasabi niya. She even lowered her head due to embarassment. She was caught listening to their conversation and it's not a good thing.

"Forget what you heard" Mason walked away with his hands in his pockets.

Athena stared at his back. She was about to ask him if he's okay but she stopped herself. She should not meddle with other business. It's his problem and they're not friends, anyway.

With that thought, Athena went in another direction and decided to forget what she had witnessed.

"Bullet kaya kong maglakad" pagpapaalala ni Celeste kay Bullet. When she logged in to the game, Bullet appeared in front of her and suddenly dragged her.

Bahagya naman siyang nagulat at napatingin sa likod ni Celeste kung saan nandoon ang tatlo nilang kasama. Tila parang nakakita ito ng multo kaya napalingon din si Celeste sa likod.

Naka poker face si Phantom at Emperor samantalang nakangiti lang si Thunder.

"Sorry." Nagkamot si Bullet sa ulo at nag peace sign. Nagbuntong hininga naman si Celeste.

They weren't able to enter the 2nd floor last night because Celeste decided to log out first. They agreed and decided to just check it out today.

Naglakad sila patungo sa isang kweba. Ito ang daanan papunta sa second floor. They needed to defeat the floor boss first before entering the second floor.

Nang makarating sila sa dulo kung saan nandoon ang pinto papunta sa sunod na floor ay biglang may lumitaw na mga slimes.

Nagdikit dikit ang mga slime na nandoon at nagform ng isang higanteng slime.

Celeste looked at the Boss' level. Level 50.

"Kadiri" komento ni Bullet and Celeste can't help but agree. Thinking that these slimes will get near her, kinikilabutan na kaagad siya.

"Let's end this" Emperor said at agad na nagpakawala ng skill. But the slime just keeps on regenerating and his life bar stays the same.

Emperor covered his sword with Fire and hit the slime. Nabawasan ng 10% ang Life bar nito.

Nagpakawala si Celeste ng Fire Phoenix at natupok ng apoy ang ilang bahagi ng katawan ng slime. That attack reduced the slime's HP by 5%.

"F*ck that slime" Hindi masyadong umuubra dito ang physical na atake. All they can do to reduce his HP is to use elemental skills.

Phantom chanted a spell and the large explosion damaged the slime greatly. The HP reduced to 70%.

Thunder used his shurikens and coupled it with a wind element. He threw them at the slime and the HP reduced to 58%.

Bullet covered his bullets with ice and used them to attack the slime. Bumaba sa 50% and HP nito.

The slime counterattacked at bumuga ng nakakadiring likido. They weren't able to dodge in time. Their HP was reduced.

Because the slime has slow movement, they were able to attack it continuously and the HP reduced to 20%.

Celeste decided to call his Mythical Guardian.

"Kerrin" lumiwanag ang singsing niya at lumabas si Kerrin.

"Astig! May mythical Guardian ka na Celeste? Class S+ pa ang isang to" Bullet said in amazement.

"Kerrin, Light Beam!" Nagpakawala si Kerrin ng isang nakakasilaw na liwanag at tinapat sa Slime hanggang sa malusaw ito ng tuluyan at maubos ang life bar.

Napanganga naman sina Bullet.

"That was amazing Celeste" puri ni Thunder nang makabawi sa pagkagulat.

"Thanks" sagot ni Celeste. Celeste proudly smiled. Of course, Kerrin is one of the highest level Mythical Guardians. Kerrin leaped to Celeste's arms.

"Job well done Kerrin" She unsummoned Kerrin.

"Well, our Celeste here is always full of surprises" Umakbay sa kanya si Bullet subalit nang mapatingin ito sa likod ay agad ding binawi ang kamay.

"Where did you get that? That's a rare Class S+ Mythical Guardian" tanong naman ni Phantom. They decided to continue walking to the 2nd floor.

"Sa isang quest" binuksan ni Bullet ang pinto papuntang second floor at isang nakakasilaw na liwanag ang bumungad sa kanila.
