The Unexpected Romance

Chapter Six - Fire Phoenix

Athena was already lying in bed but she couldn't sleep. She can't help but remember what happened earlier. 

'Kailangan ko magpaantok' she thought to herself. 

She got up from bed and opened her computer. Athena decided to login to WOF.

'Welcome back Celeste'

Athena read the announcement. It was about the new floor that will be opened next week.

Once the 2nd floor has been opened, the player needs to defeat the floor boss first before passing through to the next floor. A typical rule in online games. 

Athena was teleported in the starting point. She decided to roam around the vicinity. She hasn't explored the city yet dahil palagi lang siyang nagteteleport. 

She was just walking endlessly hanggang  makarating siya sa kanlurang bahagi ng monster forest. 

Naglalakad lang si Athena nang bigla siyang mahulog sa butas. 

"Aray" napahawak siya sa pwet dahil sa impact. She didn't notice that there was a hole because it was covered with dried leaves. 

Athena looked around. She has no idea how to get out of here. 

"Mag teleport na lang kaya ako?"

But then, she decided to just explore the place. It looks like it was a hidden dungeon. But since it was located at the edge of the monster forest, she is not sure what level of monsters are in here. She might die any time without doing anything. 

There are sounds from cave bats, and they're heading to her location. Athena prepared her bow and arrow.

Pero dahil madilim ay hindi niya masyadong makita ang mga monsters, so she tried to use her senses. Athena closed her eyes as she tried to concentrate. 

She aimed her arrows at pinakawalan ito ng sunod sunod. She could her the bats falling one by one. 

Athena opened her eyes when she heard the familiar sounds of the system.

'Quest completed. 20 monster bats killed in one minute'

'New ability acquired: Enhanced senses. This ability will heighten your sense of sight, hearing, touch and smell. You can also see through one's source of power. This ability will last for 30 mins. and can be used twice a day'

Athena smirked. 

'You are now on level 22'

In this game, there is no limit on how many skills and abilities you'll acquire. The more the merrier.

But it is not that easy to gain skills and abilities. It depends on your strategies on how to defeat monsters and bosses. High end skills are definitely hard to acquire. They designed the game that way so that it will not be too boring. 

Athena activated her night vision and she immediately looked around her surroundings.

It was magical. The cave is covered with stalagmites. Athena was in awe. These stalagmites look like crystals.

Naglakad si Athena papunta sa pinakadulo ng dungeon at nagulat siya nang may apoy na tumama sa kanyang direksyon.
Dahil sa reflexes ay naiwasan niya ang apoy. Pero, she still feels her reflexes are quite slow. 

'I need to increase my agility' she thought to herself.

Sa dulo ng dungeon ay lumabas ang isang malaking ibon.

Fire Phoenix, level 40. 

Nagdalawang isip si Athena. With her current level, she might not win against this dungeon boss. But she is thrilled to fight against this monster. And she's curious on what skill she'll acquire.
