Day 24: Apples 

Apples were never China's favorite food. It tasted so horrible, the texture was so rough, the sound of the bites, the mess it makes, and don't get him started with the inside! He hated it! So why was he holding a caramel apple?! Scratch that. Why was he hanging out South Korea at a fair park while holding a caramel apple?!

"Why am I here? I have other things to do."

"Right. Because you have so many things to do. I just thought that we could do something other than our usual "business". So stop complaining." South Korea snapped before taking a bite of her apple. Chills went up China's spine. Oh Pangea why!? That was horrible! South Korea noticed him shivering. What was wrong with him? It wasn't chilly at all. "What's wrong with you?"

"How can you eat something like that?! That smell! That sound! That taste! It's horrible!"

"What!? How can you hate apples!? They're sweet and juicy! And one of the best combos with candies! How can you like them?"

"They're not sweet! They're bitter and leave a mess. And there is no way anything else can make it better!" South Korea rolled her eyes. China was acting like a child. Why did he hate this fruit so much? "Besides, I don't like caramel. It gets everywhere."

"Okay. That's a fair point. How about chocolate?" China looked over at her and raised an eyebrow. Great! She got his attention. South Korea grabbed his hand and dragged him to the same food stand where they got their caramel apples. On the stand were multiple apple treats: caramel apples, chocolate-covered apples, apple pecan pie, apple tarts, apple turnover, and many more. However, she knew that he wouldn't want any of those treats. She looked over at the vendor and said, "Hey. It's us again. Sorry but my lovely friend doesn't like caramel. So I'll buy a chocolate-covered apple for him."

The vendor nodded and started packing it in a small box. China was kinda afraid of what he was going to eat. What if it tasted worse?! Is this payback from the smaller Asain?

"I promise it will be at least decent. Just take one bite." South Korea said after paying for the treat. She pulled them away from the food stand, not wanting the vendor to hear what she had to say. "Plus, if you take one bite, you can do whatever you want to me for the next two months."

It was tempting, very tempting. And she said that one bite would be enough. He brought the treat up to his mouth, opened it, and took a bite. It was sweet yet bitter. The chills came back and he was on the verge to spit it out. He swallows before coughing a bit. He could feel South Korea rubbing his back in...comfort? Pity?

"How was it?" She asked nervously. He looked over at her with a slight glare and pulled her close to him. She nearly dropped the caramel apples in her hands as he whispered to her.

"You so owe me."

"Yeah. That's fair."
