Day 19: Swing
Philippines rubbed her arm as she walked into the park. It was almost night time and Philippines wanted some fresh air. She already told her family that she was going to be a little late, not wanting to be disturbed by her brothers. Besides, today was an important day for her.
As she walked to the playground, she couldn't help but smile. It had been so long since she was here. But she still remembered every time she was here. This was when she was under America's care. When she was a Territoryhuman. She was so young, younger than half of the States, and she would be sent out here to the park after a long day sitting in the office. America would always go with her and even go as far as arranging for her family to visit as much as she could. The park would be the highlight of her day. And she would love swinging on the swings.
Philippines looked over at the swing set. It was just a typical swing set: four single swings, a tire swing, and two baby-sized swings. She remembered doing all the swings. The baby swing was her first swing, then her big swing, and finally the tire swing with her brothers. It was just so fun.
Walking over to the swing set, Philippines could feel her heart beat faster. She hadn't been here for so long and she just couldn't wait. She sat down on the swing, her smile growing. She swung her legs back and forth, getting the momentum. As the swing started moving back and forth faster, Philippines started remembering how she met Indonesia and Malaysia.
All three of them were considered Territoryhumans and one day, all three of them were playing in the park. Malaysia had gotten a day at the park with America's father watching over them while Indonesia had run away from Netherlands to piss him off. They had spent the day swinging on the swings, America and her father playing with them. It was so much fun!
At one point, she was nearly at the highest point of the swing. She could touch the sky if she wanted. She hadn't felt so free like this for so long. If only she could do this every day.
She had almost fallen out of the swing but quickly regain herself and stopped swinging by using her feet as an anchor. Her pants were slightly dirty but it wasn't bad. She could wash it out. It was so worth it.
She stood up, the swing still slightly moving. It was so fun to swing again. She should really find the time to do it more. After a while, she finally reached her parents' house. She opened the door and was met with a barrage of questions.
"How was your walk?"
"What were you doing?"
"What happened to your pants?!"
"Did you have a really stressful day?"
"Do you need to see a therapist?"
At least her family can brighten her day.
