Day 26: Love/Heartbreak

Love. It's one of the most beautiful and most annoying things to happen in life. There's no guarantee on what could happen next but it is always so sweet as honey. It's just so bittersweet.

Something South Korea and Japan had gone through together once.

Yes. They had dated once. And they did have a great time together for a short amount of time. Everything they did was a memory they would cherish forever.

There was one time where Japan was feeding wild ducks seeds when a row of baby ducks started following him. Even when South Korea tried to shoo them away, the ducklings kept following him. It got to the point where he started running away and those ducklings would start chasing him. South Korea couldn't do much but she knew that she just had to film this and bring it up every time.

There was another time where both of them went dancing. Japan tried her best to keep up with South Korea's dancing but oddly ended up with the most confusing and awkward dance ever. However, that didn't take away the charm. South Korea only smiled and pulled her anime lover closer to her. They spent the last few hours waltzing the night away.

Who could forget about the time when South Korea and Japan did karaoke together. Japan didn't have the best singing and it wasn't his best idea. But damn, hearing South Korea sing...it would have put him under a spell.

And who could forget about the first date? Pangea, they were both so nervous! Japan didn't know what they were doing. South Korea didn't know what to wear. They both had no idea what they were doing but it wasn't the worst thing they've ever done. They just learned so much about themselves.

So what happened? Why did they break up?

You would think it was due to life or their families' history. But no. It was none of that.

They just had so much friendship history together that it was too much to keep being lovers. Don't get it wrong, it still hurts for both of them. But they knew that it felt like it wasn't going to go anywhere further.

After the breakup, South Korea had made heartbreak after heartbreak songs for a month straight. Japan had stopped going to work, becoming a temporary shut-in. Both their friends had tried to get them to stop the bad habits, but it wasn't until UN had forced them into a meeting that they went back to normal habits.

It was still very awkward. They didn't know what to say to each other. But just like a cut heals over time, their relationship was repaired and they got over their romantic past. And whenever they were asked about their relationship, they would just say that they were testing the waters for it.

Now if that was the truth or not, no one knows. One thing was clear: there were still some romantic feelings between the two. But how long will they ignore it?
