Chapter Nineteen

~Amberly's Point of View~

• I am currently in second period right now sitting right beside my best friend, Renessmee. I am suprised that she actually came to school today being that Jack caught her up on the entire situation.

I mean, she seems so cool about it, like it doesn't even bother her. I have to give her credit for how she is handling it.

She seems completely okay with it. Even when we told her that Alaric was a vampire, she freaked at first but then she was fine.

Just like it was a normal day. I mean, we have been rattling about the boys being wolves and my condition all day.

"So, that must be why Mr. Saltzman is so hot." Renessmee said. I snapped back into the conversation we were having and gave a confused look.

"Because he is a vampire" she added. I nodded "Uh, yeah I guess. But that is how he looked when he died" I said.

"So, how long ago did he...ya know, die?" She asked. We haven't really given her details, just cheap generic summaries.

"Ummm, well the first time he died would have been twenty something years ago." I said. "The first time? I thought he only died once?" She asked.

I shook my head "He died and turned into a vampire, well more like a spell from my grandmother turned him but as a vampire he died and went to the other side-"

I was interrupted by the teacher snapping "Ms. Daniels and Ms. Smith, if what you two have to say is more important than what I am teaching please share with the class"

Everyone immediately stared at us and Renessmee gave me a look that said what do I do?

I sighed and said "We were just discussing how lovely your top is? Where did you get it?"

Mrs. Thompson smiled and said "Oh, why thank you. I got it from Target" I smiled and she continued with her lesson.

Renessmee snickered and we sat quietly, taking notes on DNA replication.

• I sat at the lunch table with Matt. I'm not really hungry so I gave Nash my burger.

"So, what have you guys been up to? It seems like everyone has been so distant." Shawn asked.

"Probably sucking each other's faces" Nash suggested stuffing his face. "Um no, and actually we were all together Saturday night" Renessmee said.

"Yeah but Matt and Amberly left and there was some weird guy there" Carter said.

"I am having family issues right now, and that weird guy was my uncle" I said.

They all just got quiet. Okay then. Matt put his arm around my shoulder and asked "How are you holding up?" I smiled and said "Just peachy"

He always asks me if I am okay. He is worried and I think that is so sweet. I am worried too, that I will have to leave him and Jack, and Renessmee, and the others.

I just feel connected to them, they are my family.

"I am gonna run to the bathroom, meet you back in class" I told Renessmee.

She nodded and I walked down the hall until I reached the restroom. I pushed the door open and made sure that nobody was in there.

When I saw no one I pulled the picture of Klaus, Hayley, Elijah, and Rebekah, and me as a baby.

Klaus seems like a real jerk. But he was nice to me, sort of. And I have a strong feeling that is the nicest he has ever been to anybody.

I have to be honest, I do want to meet the rest of them. I am curious about everything, who wouldn't be?
